| FTBL The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. UM Final Chapter

Good- Year one post CNS finally comes to an end. 9-10 wins is what I honestly expected and should be ok for year one, However what I did not expect is how they would play in the losses or who the losses were to. I did not expect a regression as the year went on either. That is very concerning.

Bad- Lots of red flags observed this year. Keep trying not to be that fan but it is hard when you see the product that was getting put on the field.

Uglies - some from the season and some from the game.

  • The people on here who in August expected CKD to be the next coming of CNS and the team woul not miss a beat and compete for a national championship year one (waiting to see how someone still justifies this position).
  • CKD's small little tirade towards Jefferson after his personal foul penalty and then letting him go back in the game one play later. Hold these guys accountable. If he doesn't this is not going to end well for him. The rah rah everybody is playing hard and preparing hard style is not going to cut it. Stope being an enabler.
  • CKD did not have the guts to bench Milroe at anytime this year. I can't help but think about CNS telling the great Julio Jones we are going to win with you or without you. The head coach has to be in control and set the bar. The bar was set but not very high. My perception is the players had way to much freedom and not enough accountability. Not enough fear of CKD.
  • NIL and transfer portal creating these entitled players with no idea of commitment.

I found this disgusting

As no issue with #13 tirade at vandy.

After The Bear's passing, Ray Perkins made the comment that Alabama fans would need to get used to 9-3 kind of seasons. And he was one of The Bear's boys. He should have been booted on the spot. While Deboer would never outwardly verbalize such a thing, he's probably thinking something along those lines. We don't "get used to" mediocrity here. And if he doesn't get it, he won't be there long. This is why we should have kept this hire in the family. When (not if) a change is made, a member of the family needs to come home and take the reigns

Uh, no. Exactly why we need to go get the best available and not strictly “keep in the family”

That doesn’t work.

A few hours sitting back and thinking about this game and season. It’s kinda nice to complain about a “crappy” 9-4 season with wins over Auburn, LSU and Georgia.

Pre Saban, we would have been ecstatic about what the future holds.

We need to sit tight. Let CKD do his job and give the man a chance. Pushing folks out after a year or two gets ya to Auburn and Nebraska type levels.

Nobody at the U of A is going to pay that buyout. He is the guy thru the 2026 season and then if not is Bama going to pay 36 million to send him packing.

5 and 4 since UGA. Keep that thought as well as how the losses unfolded.

Nobody thinks pushing someone out after 1 year. What most see is tolerance beyond acceptance. Poor play. Penalties. Crap.

Sure all for supporting HC. But need to show he is the man.

He is in control. Not players.
Upholding a standard of excellence.
Thats what we want from bama

There is a lot of things said in this post and others that didn't age well and that I didn't like this....

I"m going to start with this post:
1. Why do people compare current coaches to coaches from 60's, 70s, 80s, that was in another era and different culture. That never did make sense to me.

2. "We should've kept this hire in the family" That will never age well for any reason. It doesn't make no sense at all. Hiring Former players /coaches doesn't always work out well. So I don't know how you arrived to that point. I really don't.

3. Call for CKD to be dimissed in his first year at Alabama is crazy and stupid. Why are we even entertaining this point?

Well. 2&3. No problem.

1. No doubt. The hc s that can deal with the new era of " amateur sports and athletics " will rise to top

Only compared in regards to the way they manage playrrs.
Success or failure ???? Lot of factors.
But standard of excellence????

I am just concerned that Deboer doesn't quite understand what the standards are here. I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm worried he may think that just having 9 win seasons is good enough

This one is on ESPN:

Bad- I miss the KO, didn't show it till it with out of bound. Didn't even know who won the coin toss!

Crappie Bad- I have never seen Bama players so out of it! That play when the players comes onto the field.

Just plain Ugly- Those two BOZO were not equally on the game! I think it was 90/10 most about Mich. take on the game!!

The rain was on Bama side!
