BAD - KO coverage. We kept giving them hope with a short field.
Mentioned this during game, #1 was engaging LSU s #1 on Milroes 72 yard TD, 10 yards behind the play. Actually gave him a shot with his shoulder. Totally unnecessary; he took away our hope at 10RC with his dumdassesedness. Guess he’s a slow learner?

Off the top of my head:

One was returned to about the fifty...break down with a kick that went to the near side and they returned it up the far side. It was a breakdown; no doubt.

Another had yards tacked on by a penalty. I want to say that one started their drive around midfield, a little shy and still in their territory.

A touchback.

And then three that had them starting farther back than the 25.

What did they end up getting? Three, or was it six points?
I can't remember. I'd have to go back and look. I just remember thinking during the game that the kickoff coverage wasn't exactly spectacular.

For KO’s, LSU returned to the 50, 47 (aided by a penalty which I see as part of the KO coverage), 32, 18, 17 and one touchback. Interestingly, they got the TD on the touchback. Average starting position the 32. Plus territory against the 25 yard line, but not awful.
Their returner is a stud, and made almost every return look worse as he broke the first or second tackle. It was a very sloppy night and it affected our KO distance, so he got chances.

I was saying something similar when I saw that. Not a fan at all.... Several things CKD allows that have not been a fan of but I keep going back to his record and saying if he wins and sustains and basically lives up to the standard I willl not care. I have my concerns but not like CKD needs my approval.
The standard in my mind is not wins/losses, it's how you play the game. A next play mentality. Putting good things on tape regardless of the scoreboard. Doing things the right way M-F. The wins/losses take care of themselves.

Now, it's been noted that they may have left for safety to get everyone down to the locker room without incident. In which case I'm fine with that. However, if it was just to celebrate with the starters... I don't agree. Those players on the field even though they may have been 2nd/3rd stringers deserve to have the full attention of the staff as if they were starters. The standard isn't just for the players, it's for the coaches and fans too.

That's just my opinion... which just doesn't matter to anyone but me.... so grains of salt here.

At least T-Bob can sometimes he funny. Moscona is absolutely worthless.

The thing about Moscona is that he understands his Trolling, douchbag place. He wouldn't have the (social) media prescence if he didn't troll 'Bama. I watched a few times early this year when 'Bama is burning bullshit. Then he did Crowder & Co, all he could talk about was Milroe dropoff in passing, then disregarded Milroes passing with it being all R Williams. At that point.... I'm like, "Ok, trolling schtick".

Makes me wanna do a LSU is burning session on RTB.com just to pull views from his douchebaggery.

All we saw was the offensive coaches portion of the box empty and then Sheridan on the sidelines with less than 2 minutes to go and our defense on the field. So I wouldn’t try and make too much out of that.

I could be wrong, but the box was emptied with 5 or more minutes left. They may have showed it on tv with 2 minutes left, but it takes many minutes to get from the box to the field.

Good - scored points in a tough environment (at least until the stadium emptied)

Bad - still too many stupid penalties (7-74 yards)

Ugly - only 109 passing yards. We have an All-American caliber WR who only caught 2 passes for 29 yards. The most productive receiver was a RB who gained 50 yards on 5 receptions.

I’ve said it before, if you can slow Milroe down, the offense stops.

I agree with this and some of the stuff does not measure up in my opinion and I think will cause problems long term. I just did not want to get into the mode of that is not how CNS would do it.

I think CKD has reigned in some things that were not measuring up and he was allowing early on for whatever reason.

If you go back and watch, Milroe was getting the play from the sideline and not the helmet coms. Saying that to say this, the offensive coaches likely packed it up as soon as Young crossed the goalline on that last TD at 2:07 left on the clock. Take in to account the number of commercials immediately following the PAT, then kicking off, when the camera found Sheridan on the sidelines, likely 5-7 minutes had elapsed. Coaches don’t take stairs, so I imagine the elevator was of the “express variety. When the camera showed the coaches box, it was only on the front row where Sheridan and other offensive coaches were sitting before. Defensive guys likely above them where we saw the guy that either Fowler or Herbstreit said was likely “cleaning up”.

Thought about the passing while watching the game. About that time, Milroe broke for a 75 yard run. Stay with what's working. The rum was working, no need to air it out.

I was thinking the same thing. I want to see more through the air, but if we smash them on the ground then stick with it and enjoy. Opponents got a lot less tape on our offense watching this game as well, because it wasn't a lot we were showing.

I do think we game planned anticipating the rain. It definitely affected many passing games last Saturday. I'm sure Deboer had to deal with rain a lot more in Washington than he will in Tuscaloosa. I think CKD was a pig in slop in BR.
