| FTBL The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. UM Final Chapter

Good: we did not have to get embarrassed in the playoffs

Bad: this season is not acceptable. Losses to vandy, Oklahoma and a mid at best Michigan team.

Ugly: frustration on both sides of the ball for a lot more of the season than I would have liked

I give the players and coaching a C this year. Not sure what coaching, philosophy, player changes we need but what we have is not working.
Agree. Who picked a 9-win season back in August? Buy that guy a beer.

Good: CKD’s excuse of inheriting CNS’s players (not suited to CKD’s offense) is now fully taken away.

Bad: Tied between offensive play calling and QB play

Ugly: Tied between offensive play calling and QB play

Where was our running game? Screens?
Not just the OC - need to hold the OL coach accountable. Didn’t improve all year

Good: The defense played well enough for a comfortable victory. Holding them to a single score and three first quarter FG attempts was a victory, not to mention the single FG for the rest of the way. All this slobbering over that "Wink Martindale defense" - I'm thinking game shows, or when the announcers used "Bud Foster defense" as filler during VaTech games - and our D played better.
Bad: Offensive line play.
Ugly: Milroe. I've been a supporter, but he has regressed horribly. I'm now afraid he won't declare for the draft. I'm not sure he's even a day two selection. He was so gun shy he was ducking as soon as he was taking the snap, impossible for him to even consider his first read.

And, despite all of this, we were still in a position to beat them.

The season's end is here, and a new year is upon us. I think I'll enjoy the new year, and I wish you all the same. Time to be buoyed or disappointed by basketball. Roll Tide, everybody.

UGLY…We found out that this team was just not that good…I think the coaches knew that from the beginning, they just had to bite the bullet…This team NEVER deserved to be anywhere near the playoff…Hopefully CKD gets his players and transfer in quickly… Hopefully the off season has “ THE FIFTH QUARTER” program, especially for the guys in the trenches..Glad we got taller and more physical receivers coming..

But ....let's not forget....Saban went 7-6 AND lost to UL-Monroe in his first season!! And then look what he did from 2008 till the end. So, it's all good. Deboer's dynasty just hasn't kicked in yet!! 😂
You may be right, but I'm not sure I can equate the athletes Saban inherited as to the athletes Saban left for the next guy. So far, I'm somewhat less than impressed. But we'll see.

Oh no, I wasn't serious in the least LOL. There is a higher chance of Deboer being fired (or leaving on his own) than there is of him getting a 10 win season during his time at Bama, which I pray is short lived

The situations are identical, too.
I was told all season that Saban had gone 7-6 and lost to UL-Monroe in his first season. I don't know why people thought that was the same as this year. Saban inherited a dumpster fire that was so bad that 7-6 was probably an overachievement in 2007. Deboer inherited superior talent and severely underachieved. Saban turned chicken shit into gourmet cuisine and Deboer is doing the opposite

I reserve the right to edit, but at the half.
Good- BAMA defense 109 yards on 34 snaps with majority coming in shadow of own goalpost.
Bad- rainstorm that hit. Thank God for Walmart poncho.
Ugly- where to start? Let’s see!! #4!!! I’ve been trying to support the kid, but damn that first quarter yall!!!
Dude I’m sorry you pissed the money away to go see that shit show!

Good. Stayed home. Thank goodness
Some tough D

Bad. Really. Coaching. Putting a player back in that argues with HC. Bad.
Punching another player. Bad

Everyone loves backup. But couldn't one have a series. At least 1. Bad.

Michigan played with 6-7 backups on D. We couldn't move ball
Bad

Running football was weak. Line play weak.
Bad

Thats enough

Ugly. Qb. Has to read and know where receivers are. Open receivers know they are open. The bama qb didn't know where his receivers were. Pick one out of huddle. Stay with him. Open receivers everywhere

Even last couple plays. Receivers open

And qb was s HT candidate. Coaching or lack of prep?

Nick Sheridan is just as awful as Milroe. The play calling in this game has been equally as bad. The entire 3rd Quarter was terruble. The last drive that led to a FG was awful too. No sense of urgency despite being down two scores.
He had to keep either the TE or the H-back in to block even though #45 couldn't block my mother.

Winks gave an NFL test to Bama early in this game and we failed. Just send everyone from all directions and hope someone gets home. Create enough confusion (not much needed for our low IQ QB) and end any confidence he might have.

Kalen Deboer ain't it. I'll give him time as every coach deserves time. But there are serious red flags with the way he runs the program and how he coaches.
Only a couple of options on this

A-Kalen has his hands tied with the #4 deal and his roster thus he stuck with the guy for 13 games. I doubt there is another HC in college football that wouldn't have put the backup in after #4 shit the bed in the 1st 10 minutes.

B-Ty is viewed by the staff is not capable of playing minutes as a starter no matter how bad #4 plays

C-Kalen is in way over his head as the HC at a program like Alabama......this one is a F big deal since his buyout at the end of year 3 will still be around 36 million

I am just damn glad this shit is over for this season. I have followed the Tide since 58 and I can say that I have never been more frustrated with a team in my 74 years. Kalen needs to recruit some talent, and he needs some player IQ with it.

I think the whole staff new that this team just wasn’t that good… and they knew they wouldn’t come close to meeting expectations this year… They just had to weather the storm..and take the slings and arrows..
