| FTBL The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. UM Final Chapter

When Fan A opines about DeBoer and his staff not having a grasp on team control, letting players dictate things, etc... And then Fan A turns around and lays blame on (and yes, whines about) DeBoer and his staff losing players to the portal, some of the very same players who were difficult to manage, then yes... I see it as unnecessary whining. It's whining in a circle if you think about it. They are welcome to do it, but it's silly. Which is why I said what I said.

IMO, the choice of the word whining fits, a least from the perspective I've seen and heard comments from. Yes, there can certainly be frustration, anger (if one wants to be angered over it), and even embarrassed (again, if fans want to be embarrassed). Constructive criticism? I see that as productive in most cases.

I also think the boosters have more skin in the game, and IMO, their voices hold more weight... But, I don't believe that their generous support should allow them any control whatsoever over the day to day goings on within the building. Bama went down that road and it led to some dark times. Also, see auburn. Or Texas. It's not good for the long term health of a program. If they want to stop giving $, for whatever reason(s) they choose, I'm 100% ok with that.

Truer words have never been spoken!
We may fail, but we damned sure don’t need to fail because of our actions!

Remember that CKD originally had Ryan Grubb secured and on staff. Then he got the Seahawks OC job. I do believe things would have been different in a positive way if we had had Grubb all along. CKD had a really great relationship with him.

IMO, the original staff with Grubb as OC and Sheridan at TE coach would have been more ideal, especially on game days. But, this is still DeBoer's offense regardless, and his hand on it is heavy. I'm not real sure the gameplan stuff would have been very different this past season.

A bad is my memory. Do any of you guys ever try to find a thread you know you posted in or a specific post and you just can’t find it? 🤣 There was a thread with the Bama team heading to the airport in sweats and got the debate started about how they should dress, etc. I can’t find that thread anywhere! I even posted several times in it and when I look at my posting activities for the last month, those posts are missing. It’s like I was dreaming it all! I know I posted asking 50+ if he traveled in ties, etc. I just took screen shots of
My posting history for the last 2 weeks and it’s no in there and I know the team didn’t travel to Tampa more than 2 weeks ago. I must be going crazy here. Maybe someone slipped some of Mile High’s drugs in my breakfast!

Look on page 2 of the game thread from yesterday....

Thank you. But I have no posts on page 2, just looked. Had one on page 3 about my son asking about all the girls in the unplanned wet t-shirt contest. But these posts in question were well before game day and the game thread. When I open the Game thread, the first post was yesterday morning to open the thread. Maybe it’s just me!

Ahhh... Not sure then, I figure it was around that page where folks started the back and forth about how the players should dress when they are on a bus, on a plane, in a theme park, or at a business casual lunch at the downtown Hilton.

Yes! That was the thread! But when I open the game thread that was started yesterday, I don’t see those posts anywhere. And the posts don’t show up in my post history. It’s like the Twilight Zone!

Complaints have become whispers, and rumors have become convictions that the Seahawks could part ways with Grubb in the coming days. We have no reports of which to speak, but I place myself firmly in the camp of those who went from summer optimist to putrid disappointment.

I agree with this but I also know we need to be guarded in our support and how we express our disatisifaction especiallu year one. If we do not it will be self fullfilling and uncercut CKD's ability to be successful. We need to support the program and demand excellence but in a healthy way. I know I have expressed disatification but I hope I found the right balance especially year one. It is a fine line, one way will help the program and but the othwr will destroy it from within and it can become the Barn and Vile programs of the world.

The Debose and Shula years are examples of unhealthy ways to respond.
Well, you almost had me agreeing (at least at 20,000 feet) with you until your last sentence. If every Bama fan living or dead had worn permanently affixed crimson colored glasses and had sung Kumbaya My Lord Kumba bama 24/7 it would have changed nothing with DeBose or Shula. And just to be clear, I am not calling for Bama to fire DeBoers. That’s a recipe for disaster. I do want him to feel the heat though because he needs to alter his coaching style if he wants to be a successful coach in the SEC. As to Milroe … he seems like a nice young man but there are a lot of nice young men who shouldn’t be the starting QB for Bama. I’ve spent a lot of money being a Bama fan and as such I have every right to critique what I’ve “bought”. Some Bama fans disagree and I’m fine with that … they should be able to say whatever they want. Though they should offer the same courtesy to those whose opinions they don’t like. Some do more do not.

We just have to find a way to not spiral year one out of control. Kind of like do not let one bad play turn into two bad plays or one loss turn into two. I am pretty sure CKD knows that 4 losses is not going to cut it at Bama.

Been some additional comments about Grub not coming as OC. That was a concern of mine at the time but you just have to defer to the decision of the head man. He knows he needs to win so he should be trying to put the best staff together he can. Given the circumstances that may have been the best decision he could make.

I knew most of that... Milroe has been tipping off the play all season long. I realized it 5 games in. Sloopy OL protection, half ass efforts from everyone. Oh well.

Meh, I don't notice tendencies with his pre-snap foot placement. There seemed to be a connection in like his first 10 or so plays, but after that, the notion of a perceived tendency is tossed out the window.

What I DID notice was practically the same route combination, regardless of formation. 3 deep routes of all 15+ yds, one short route most of the time, with little to no intermediate routes of 7-10 yds.

That's a problem.

yes, that's a good point you made. Offense was too predictable.

He never looked off his primary target. That's a problem too.

Edit- Most of the time. like 95% of the time, he never saw anyone but his primary target.
