| FTBL Updates on Alabama players that are entering the transfer portal...

So how does someone claim a coach as successful as CNS would have a culture that does not promote competition? It does not add up. Maybe there is a more likely explanation.
It’s probably more of being butthurt because the guy playing is better or they don’t like to compete. I don’t think it has anything to do with culture just hurt feelings.

Back in the days, when you told someone you were going to the Valley! First thing out of their mouth where are you going? When I was a teenager, we would go to the Bowing Ally or to the drive-in!
Oh yeah. Bowling alley still kicking some of the best Burgers you’ll ever eat. I’m originally from Roanoke. Married up and moved South. Been here over 23 years. My family still lives in Roanoke.

“For those of you that don't understand Earl's tweet the hat means "Cap" which is street slang right now for false or lies. Which means that quote from the other tweet is fake. I'm pretty sure SLO knows what that is but those of you reacting need to chill.”

How about a little help? My age is showing as I not only fail to understand Earl’s tweet, I also don’t understand where the “hat” you refer to comes from much less the hidden meaning of “Cap”! And while I’m at it, what does “Cap” have to do with “false or lies”?

If people are wondering why so many Bama players hit the portal today, this was the day for their in-person meeting with position coaches and Saban for their futures to be discussed. As @Brandon Van de Graaff mentioned some were basically told they needed to find a new home and others came seeking out playing time and moving on. Don't think we're going to lose anyone this year that we aren't replacing with recruits or will be a big contributor in the future.

To dive deeper into it for those who care... In early December a lot of the players sat down for 1-on-1's with Saban... the players that wanted to meet with him and the players that he wanted to meet with, which in all was a good chunk of the roster. Some of the meetings covered transferring (and I think 3 guys decided to enter to portal before the bowl game). For a lot of the draft eligible guys, it was their feedback meeting where Saban gave them their draft evaluations and his advice along with it. This week, after the final game (and again at the conclusion of spring practice), all players had an opportunity to meet with their position coach, coordinator, and another 1-on-1 with Saban for the final sitdown/debrief. This is when most of the transfer issues are handled... some of it involves Saban having to re-recruit guys, some of it is him managing difficult situations. The draft eligible players are expected to have their decisions made this week too after discussing things with their family. Saban is always open and honest to the draftable players about what he feels their best decision should be... he has a very strong reputation for that within NFL circles, and most (but not all) usually take his advice.

The WR corps lost a bunch of guys to the portal and there aren’t many WR’s in the 2024 class. Saban’s going to have to tap into the portal to find some guys ie more than one.
We've got

Kendrick Law
Isaiah Bond
Kobe Prentice
Jalen Hale
Jaren Hamilton
Emmanuel Henderson
Cole Adams
Aeryn Hampton
Ryan Williams
Jameer Grimsley
Rico Scott
Amari Jefferson

I think we're good bud, we might if there's a can't miss guy out there but I don't see anyone. Might even lose 1 more to the portal before Summer.

We don’t technically have Ryan Williams yet as he isn’t signing until next month

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t there a similar sentiment when Hurts was QB from WR’s like Ridley? I just thought I remembered WR’s that year pushing for Tua because it opened up the passing game so much more.

Yes, there was some of that. They saw first hand what Tua was doing in practice and it was very beneficial to their production. The guys on the current roster have had some similar reactions to Lonergan... he puts it where they can get it...
