| FTBL The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Boomer

He will make more money in NIL staying at Bama. I know a lot of people expect him to go pro and even be a 1st rounder. I just do not see it but teams do some crazy stuff based on potential. Somone will draft him because he is a freak athelete and seems like a great kid. What round someone smarter than me will have to answer. I assume his draft stock is declining which means he could decide to come back next year.

What happened tonight is what I was concerned about. Venables had two weeks to come up with a way to take his legs out of the game and put it on his arm. When teams do that he is average especially when the OL struggles. 57 is what we have seen and in a game like this it is magnified. Milore has had a game or two where he lit a team up threw the air but it is the exception.
Milroe simply can’t handle pressure, when he is the focus of the defense.. Oklahoma didn’t care about our run or wides… only Milroe… and he folded… they kept zeroing in on his face… he face told the story..He was beaten mentally..

I ask this sincerely, Brandon, because you know a scout or have a connection. You think he’ll get drafted in the 2025 draft? I remember you mentioning after the Vandy game that the talk about him had fallen way off. Since then he’s only had success with his legs on occasion. I’m curious what the scouts are leaning toward now.

I'll see one (a scout) in a few days during Thanksgiving break and get his latest take... but the couple that I occasionally speak with along with 2 guys in the scouting industry that I've known for years, continue to say that Milroe's ceiling makes him one of the top QB's in this class. And his play has been up and down, which hasn't been a positive, but they've also pointed to others like Beck, Ewers, and Nussmeier, who are all high on certain boards and have also been consistently inconsistent. As for Milroe, he has shown he can make the throws. He has Lamar Jackson type ability as a runner. He's extremely bright in terms of his intelligence. He's far from a finished product, but teams see the potential and most believe they can get the most out of him, and fix the issues under the hood. It also makes a difference about the type of offense he ends up in (see: Jalen Hurts and Bo Nix) and he's almost certainly a guy that needs to go into a situation where he can sit for a couple of years if possible and not be rushed (see: Jordan Love).

FWIW, the unanimous opinion amongst them as of a couple weeks ago was that for now Shedeur Sanders was/is QB 1, and the line begins behind him.

Sanders seems to put up the numbers, so I can see that. But I’d like to see him against a good defense. It doesn’t look like this will be a draft class full of stud QB’s. Milroe and Beck have been disappointments, but at least Beck is putting up better yardage and passing TDs as the season as progressed. Milroe is averaging now about 187 passing yards per game passing the last 6 games, and 153 the last 3 games. He’s continued to go down all season. 153 passing yards per game is pitiful for Alabama football. Hell, Williams should be having that many yards receiving per game.

Another Ugly - Oklahoma was giving up 28 points per game in SEC play. And 32 per game at home in SEC play. Alabama scores 3. We just made their season.

The low points this season just keep coming. I told my son to start now on keeping expectations for the Auburn game low, who knows what the hell will happen or which team will show next week. I believe CKD had 12 losses in his career entering this season, he could easily add 1/3 to that this season. Maybe more depending on who we play in a bowl and how many of our players skip out.

Good - Bowl game tickets will be cheap! Shouldn’t cost me much to take my son this year. Only 4 penalties.

Bad - Milroe’s consistency. Milroe’s accuracy. Our one dimensional offense. Wasting Ryan Williams. Our fans overconfidence in planning for the SECCG and CFP. Losing to 2 unranked teams in a season.

Ugly - No TD’s for the first time in over a generation. Milroe’s accuracy. Milroe’s run game. Oklahoma’s passing attack. Losing to a team with their top 50 receivers out. Letting a QB run for 128 yards which is over half his yards through first 10 games. Losing to a team that was 1-5 in conference play. Losing to Brent Venables, a Dabo disciple. Having no say in the CFP in year one of the 12 team. Helping ensure 4 B1G teams make the dance. Did I say wasting Ryan Williams in yet another game? Us hitching our wagon to Milroe come hell or high water. He was a bad passer last year and nothing has changed.
Birmingham isn't far away 🥺

Another thought: So far year one under CKD has been good overall IMO. It's a transition year (with a very brutal schedule at that), and at their peak we see that a CKD team is capable of putting on a show (LSU and UGA). But like all transition years, you see growing pains and strange performances. It doesn't help that in 2024, college football is practically ran by the players which means coaches have to do more playcating than coaching. These players could probably use a Bill Parcells/CNS ass chewing at times and not positive reinforcement.

As the off-season approaches I hope CKD will make appropriate coaching staff changes and roster calls.

As for next week, Alabama has to win no questions asked. IDGAF if the Barn is playing their best ball, we gotta lay the smack down on those bitches.

Good- we were 1/1 in FG! The Hubbard caused Fumble.

Bad- Offensive gameplan! Lawson going down!

Ugly- setting the edge!!! DAMN!!! field seemed to be horrible! A lot of guys slipping and sliding. Tackling! Jalen took a HUGE step back. Way too much trying to run East/West!!!

Fucking Pathetic- the Linesman on the OU needs his ass FIRED STRAIGHT TO THE FUCKING SUN!!! You don’t wait until the catch is made to throw the damn flag!!! Wouldn’t have likely made a difference in the outcome, but it damn sure killed any momentum.

You will have to help me understand this statement.... 250+ yards given up against the run? 200 of that was in the first half. Poor defense is how I read that. The way I see it we were forutnate they only scored 24 points.

That was my point. The defense only really allowed 17 points. It could be argued 10 - 13 points because the first interception, OK was already in the red zone.

I'm not pleased with the 250 yards rushing by OU, but they shut down their offensive game plan in the second half after adjustments.

Good - OK had all those starters hurt before this game. I don't know how but I guess it could have been worse for us if they had played.

Bad - 'Bama has the two worst losses in CFB this season.

Ugly - 'Bama responsible for 2 signature wins for our opponents in 2024.

Good - My budget won't take a hit buying ANY tickets in Atlanta.
Bad - Inability to adjust on offense or defense.
Ugly - Lack of execution on all sides of the ball. Drops, missed tackles, bad punts. I haven't seen any explanation on the TD reversal that supported the call.

I was silent on this game and the aTm game. I was concerned about both. We were dominated by their defense. Now we have a rejuvenated auburn team coming to town, and they now believe they'll be the crap topping on our unsatisfying season. DeBoer better get it straight this week.

I saw an article wondering if a three-loss Bama team should get in the playoff. They are out of their mind.

A three loss Bama team drops to 15 or so. We ain't getting in. Pack that idea up.

I'm not so sure we can beat auburn at this point. I thought all along three loses this first season. UGA, UT and LSU were my guesses though.

Bama is no longer a physical football team… When we play a team that plays very physical we get whipped… Our players get injured about like Cochran’s final year…CKD is a great coach, but he is a finesse type coach…Go back to when Washington played Michigan…The reason that game was lost was because was because Michigan had a much more physical and stronger players …Pay close attention to our recruiting class, is he recruiting brutal players or finesse type players?…

Milroe is either a Maserati or a Ford Pinto s o inconsistent. Ready for him to move on. Convinced it’s a mental thing with the team. How do you dominate uGaly and then have this performance, at Vandy, and 10RC? Because you are focused on yourself, not sure kids in this culture can do anything else. Once it gets in the “locker room”, it spreads fast and it doesn’t just leave. It has to be forced out.

Good-Bama won the coin toss

Bad-The only thing they won, was the coin toss.

Ugly-That the potential of this team is not even close to being employed come game time with any consistency. Perhaps I am expecting too much.

ROLL TIDE, ANYWAY!
