I'm bout to be super petty right now... all the idiots constantly calling for Jalen to be benched can take this game and shove it right up their tail pipes..
Good - Jalen is king... play calling got better in the fourth except for the field goal drive... it's time to throw that little empty backfield, QB draw out of the playbook. As soon as Harris motioned to the outside, both safetys crept up and pointed to Jalen. They ran that play twice and both times that happened. Defense's know it's coming now. Jalen played one hell of a game all-around. His poise is ridiculous.
Bad - Too many times Jalen scanned the ENTIRE field and no one was open. A few receivers (Sims and Smith in particular) made some big plays down the stretch but need more consistency. Play calling comes into this. Jalen also held the ball a little too long a few times. I honestly think he was hesitant to run a few times, trying to make a play down field. Dont ignore your instincts completely.
Ugly - Holy shit defense HORRENDOUS. They didn't gain a ton of yards but too many 5-6 yard gains ALL GAME. D-Line absolutely BLOWN off the ball. And I am beyond tired of Tony Brown at this point. He can't cover, can't tackle, IDK what the hell the deal is. Is Shy Carter or any of those freshmen REALLY that bad? Holcombe has no business on the field, I'm sorry. I know he has some fans on here but he is too slow, constantly out of business, a bad tackler, no natural instinct. How many five stars are playing behind him? Yeah I know experience, but Im pretty sure Ben Davis wouldn't literally tackle a receiver as time expires on a hail mary, mind you a receiver that wasn't even starting to look for the ball yet either.
State's decision to blitz on those last few Bama plays. 3rd and 15 and you blitz a safety? Either very stupid or no respect for Jalen. He respects him now.
Tried to keep it shorter this week, know yall hate my long ass rants on these but cant help it *shrug*
