| FTBL The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Stark Vegas

It was obvous & I can see your point. But @BamaFan334 point was that Golding isn't doing himself any favors to make most of us so thankful that he is gone. This defense is better now without him. The LB play is greatly improved!

But, again, your point isn't lost on me either. Hopefully the DL unit can get their act together.
What he does at Ole Miss is really irrelevant. It's like comparing living conditions in NY versus BHM.

There's been a few coaches I've seen I just didn't like. Some because of what they did outside of football, some on the field. Roach needs to go back to DPP.

If the DL were hitting the right assignments the last few years this is a different story. They aren't. It's coaching. Ya can't blame a linebacker coach when the DL isn't doing their job.

You're dense at times, Casey. I'm saying "it's coaching." It's also recruiting along the line.

If you buy a can of Raid, what are you trying to get rid of?

We all see the same issues and you're dying on a hill alone, still. Oh, Pete Golding is a great recruiter. Oh, it's the players, not Golding. So he's a great recruiter, or it's the players he's helping recruit, which is it???????

How am I dense to see he's not worthy of running a Championship defense? Once again, deflect all you want, but he is vulnerable. That same LSU offense and coaching you've put down many times before gashed his defense all night. Funny that his offense, much like ours has to average 40 to secure a win. It'll happen more this season. He caught Alabama in a year where we are down at quarterback, otherwise we would have ate him up for 50 points as well. It's not dense to seea kink in the armor and know where to attack. Same coach, same results.

You can't but it is the DC and Head Coaches job to see that and bring in someone that can coach them up. If it is scheme then that is on the Head Coach to change.

Based on my historic posts, you know I am not a fan of any D that gives up 15+ points and can't shutdown the run. This is expecially the case in big games much less middle of the pack offenses. With that said I do believe there are also some issues with the Jimmies and Joes on the DL. This gets back to recruiting and some of the misses we have seen. Some of these other teams in the SEC that are recruiting well have put a dent in our talent in the DL it seems.

With the exception of the 4th qtr against Tx, until this game, I thought the D was playing better. In CNS press conference he did talk about State running when they were not expecting it on some of those 3rd and long yardage they converted. So in this game maybe it came down to State making those running calls when it favored them more but that is when the DC has to adjust how he is calling the game.

Ole Miss & Miss State used to have fanastic, high ranking defenses under the direction of a Mr. Joe Lee Dunn. It used to be that was the only thing those Mississippi schools were good for.

The points you're making on the DL are solid. But, umm, the LB play under Golding was average. And not just because of the DL. The DL doesn't make the tackles for LB's. The physicality of the LB play now is MUCH better now & it isn't limited to just one particular player. Campbell, Blackshire, & Braswell are all making solid plays. It's now not just one guy designed to make all the tackles.

The Good: Seeing a fiery Coach Saban on the sideline chewing some ass. Good reminder of older times.
The Bad: Offensive line is showing improvement but still has a long way to go.
The Ugly: The play in first part of first quarter. I was not there and believe those damn cowbells are difficult to deal with. However, we need to improve in this type environment. Texas A & M will be as bad if we don't quiet them down quick with some impressive playing.

Good: The pass rush doesn't suck anymore
Bad: The start
Ugly: The game time. 7 PM starts are bad enough but I literally fell asleep before this one ended.

Good: Will and the defense when they forced turnovers and were absolutely on point. Especially the non offensive TD.

Bad: The defense when the pups seemingly did what they wanted when they wanted. Some of those drives for them were effortless

Ugly: O line issues. Penalties and making Milroe look like poor Brodie in the 2005 Iron Bowl

GOOD ——they covered the over and I won some money. We have a great kicker. No injuries and defensive play.

BAD —— we have no stud wideout. It appears that the passing game is as finicky as a cat.

UGLY —— inconsistent offensive line (but I feel like they are slowly slowly slowly getting better).

You’re seeing something I’m missing on the o-line slowly getting better. On almost every snap someone misses an assignment or gets a penalty or just flat out gets beat. They don’t play with passion and there’s not an alpha. They’re obviously physically gifted but appear to be dumb as a sack of rocks. That or they just don’t care. Saban has landed numerous 5 Star linemen the past several years but I’d rather he go back to recruiting 3 Star and low 4 Star and develop them. Go back to finding guys who play with passion and have a nasty streak. Recruit linemen who are hungry and maybe not coming in with huge NIL deals. Do something different cause whatever they’ve been doing ain’t working. Of course I could say a lot of the same things about the d-line. During the meat of the dynasty Bama dominated the lines of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Bryce covered over a lot of issues that without him shine brightly.

The OL has absolutely improved some.... It isn't where is needs to be, or should be, but it has gotten better. Against A&M, they are going to have their toughest test, tougher than Texas... and I do expect some issues... but to their credit, they've made some strides.
The will be one thing that will need more practice on!

I believe they have improved as well. When you say they do not play with passion not sure I agree with that. I will say if you are excited and young but you get beat a few times it is easy to get discouraged. I think that is what you are seeing and interpreting to be no passion or not caring. I believe they are giving effort just inexperience and technique issues maybe even pressing is getting the better of them at times during the game. As they have success their confidence will grow and then it will look more like playing with passion.

You other point to back they are improving, to rush for 200+ (a little misleading because of Milroe) you must be doing some good things.

You should look better against the competition the last three weeks. As you stated, you'll learn this next weekend if it were indeed gains or just lack of talent in the opponent.
