🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Oklahoma

I don't like the leveling off in terms of trajectory of the offense now in 2 seasons,
Good post overall, but I wish to single this remark out. I agree. But a part of me keeps falling back on the excuse of the unique conditions around DeBoer's arrival --> the fragile roster --> the light offseason workouts --> Milroe's skillset, etc. I truly expected a lot more balance this season and a lethal offense. Simpson, Bernard, Cuevas, and Brooks have all overachieved, but the OL and the other O skill players have disappointed. And I can't wait to find out who or what is to blame for this. Granted with increased parity, I don't think we will see as many gaudy rushing totals across the country like we've been used to. However with all the new starters on offense next season, it might be a good time for a change in OL and RB coaches.

On a related note, I'm envious watching UGA make Texas's ass quit. UGA and TAMU would comfortably beat anyone else in the SEC right now. Yes, S Carolina gave TAMU a good game, but that second half shows what TAMU can do when they have to.

Good- uhh? We have an “easy” game next week??

Bad- We can’t pass protect. Trying to block 7 defenders with 6 people is nearly impossible. Even when we had an extra blocker, they still went through us.

Ugly- turnovers. Lack of running game. Kicking game, do I need to go on?

I was nervous about the Iron Bowl at the start of the season and now I’m even more worried about it. I hate having to go down there to that Indian burial mound and having to win to get to the SECCG or playoffs or just in general. That place has some strange voodoo

Good - Defense kept giving the team a chance to win it. Cuevas was strong for us. Daniel Hill played a big game for us.

Bad

Ugly - Ty, you fucking sucked. Embarrassing to be honest. Your late clock bullshit, turnovers, no zip passes, and continued of holding the ball are killing your team. This isn't isolated, it's been brewing for weeks. The amount of time wasted every single snap puts us in a bad spot and we lose possessions due to that. In a game with zero room for error, and you slice your possessions away because of play clock crap, you see what happens.

Talty, I hope we never see you again. The team deserves more than your sorry fucking ass. You having the nerve to say ANYTHING to another player on this team after your year's performance is beyond me. I'd strip your scholarship and drop your ass to prep team. Treating a teammate like that tells me everything I need to know about you. Do yourself a favor and not step on the field again.

Grubb, I'm tired of your bullshit "trickery" plays. You have the ability to call some really good games, but you happen to fuck up so much for some weird reason. I'm over the "noise" and would rather see a legitimate offense and not smoke and mirrors.
Agree with all of this.

Good: It's 70+ degrees in November.

Bad: Oklahoma only scored 6 points that weren't a direct connection to a turnover and won the game.

Ugly: That 4th down play at the end and the middle of the field no longer an option in the 2nd half. I didn't notice if OU adjusted and took it away from us or what.

Good - the effort by #64 on the pick six. Cuevas. The defense played well giving up 16 points while being put in tough field position most of the game due to miscues.

Bad - This game reminded me of the Ole Miss games several years back. Too many turnovers to win...Playcalling is still hit and miss

Ugly - Two 3 and outs to start the game on offense. Turnovers! The last possession. There's nothing wrong with moving the ball 10 yards at a time in the 2-4 minute offense. No need to try and force a deep throw on 2 and 21...

I don't like the leveling off in terms of trajectory of the offense now in 2 seasons, though I feel (after that 1 drug induced watch) that the offense did more than enough to win this afternoon... problem is, they fired into their own foot too many times. But at this point in November, they have to find a way. This bullshit where multiple SEC teams get a week off before Bama week while Bama has to play another SEC team needs to be nipped. It should be, and can be, evened out for all teams where it is fair across the board. Some may call it an excuse, and that's fine, but it's an unfair advantage built into some schedules that Bama doesn't get to benefit from.

But going forward, it's just going to be heavyweight fights most weeks in conference play. Gotta be prepared and fight smart.
Boogs basically have 2 off weeks before we visit. No game on 11/15, then scrimmage vs what’s a matter u.

Good - 12 first downs, 3/13 on third downs, 212 total yards. The D allowed just one TD on a drive of 31 yards. They allowed a FG on a 41-yard drive, OK's longest drive of the day. The two INT opportunities - would've been nice to get one of those, but I'm not going to criticize that on what was an overall good defensive effort - other than a lack of QB pressure.

Bad - Turnovers and an ineffective offense. This game hinged on playcalling and the poor timing of Ty's 14 incompletions. The turnovers were clearly the difference in the game. Bama doubled up the dirt burglars in most offensive measures. My recollection was one drop on what would've been a tough catch. This game was about Ty not throwing catchable balls to his receivers, and not seeing open receivers. Both INTs were to the off defenders, meaning it was likely Ty was thinking he had man and they were in zone. Classic Venables, shades of Tua.

Ugly - Clock and timeout management was poor at the end of each half.

Good- Defense did a lot of good things but just needed one more good thing if they could have held one of the TDs to a field goal. Offense moved the ball against a good defense but we all know the turnovers and sacks killed it.

Bad- For the 2nd year in a row the team is going to be a 3+ loss team. They will lose at least one more. No way this team runs the table. Going into this OU.

Ugly- My concerns that CKD is a good but not great coach that will have bama as a 2nd tier SEC team with 2+ losses per year. Keep hoping I am wrong and I keep reminding myself this is only year two.

I saw @BamaFan334 comment on Talty, I fully agree that Talty showed who he is during that little outburst. He showed what kind of a teamate he is and instead of owning his part of the problem blamed it on someone else.

Good: Defense is improving but still doesn’t practice tackling.
Bad: The HC not making the tough decisions of making a change, at least for a couple of series, when the QB is struggling.
Ugly: Ball security

If every player gave the effort 64 did trying to tackle the pick 6 DB, this team would be in a good place. That is not the case.

#64 receives this week's version of the I Reckon so trophy. Congrats.
