šŸˆ The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Indiana

You have to look at the program and tell it like it is. We have a systematic issue at this point. We have been nuked off the field multiple times with teams that have less talent. It’s on the coaches to have these players ready to play. We are no where near the other playoff teams. Don’t have the coaching. Don’t have the scheme. Don’t have the QB.

All the other playoff teams looked the same. Physical. Offense and ST that complement their defense. Tough QB that is a gamer. We have NONE of those. I haven’t lost faith in Deboer but to give him an extension is another Norvell / FSU deal at this point. No way I’d give him one this early.

Definitely doesn't deserve an extension...

How long has Herbstreit dreamed of saying this? He seemed to take an unusual amount of pleasure in Bama's misery. I guess he's still ticked off about Bama getting in over OSU back in the '17 playoff...

His OSU and B10 homer-ism was on full display when it became obvious there was no chance Bama would embarrass him by coming back to make him eat his words.

The most amazing thing is that as Herbie was pronouncing Alabama as listless as his emotional support dog, Jefferson was laying devasting hits on the running back. It just didn't fit his narrative, so they went ignored.

You tend to play like you practice. Good on good at Alabama practice should produce sparks due to the hitting in running game. That mentality is hard to capture in today’s culture. You can’t work them like that anymore. It is indeed a fine line.
Piggybacking on this. How can you be a good run stopping team when you practice against your offense that can't run the ball? Coach Bryant was right - the same things win that have always won, we just have different excuses.

when time allows rewatch some of the game but only plays where IU has the ball. Don't get lost on the actual ball and instead watch their OL destroy us play after play. Not just block but totally destroy us. Even when we got a chance to make a stop, they ran right thru our pathetic tackle attempts. Our guys don't even need shoulder pads because they're never used to tackle.

This gimmick strength program needs to be revised starting Monday morning. We're so F'ing soft from players to coaches.

Hootie would have allowed Go Blue to come take Kalen and this financial mess we have with Kalen and that would be great. Problem is half the team leaves and who do you get at this point. We're F'ed either way at coaching and dollars.

DeMeco would have to be the 1st call but that isn't going to happen either.

Good- we got to see several players that normally do not get in the game.

Bad- 4th down call early in the 1st quarter. Soft coverage in zone defense. ILB play, Lawson has killed us all year.

Ugly- CRG’s play calling. Not using the TE, lack of the middle of the field in the passing game, no screens, no slants, no adjustments and running plays that continued to be called going off tackle across the opposite LOS. Seattle fired Grubb because they could not run the ball. We do not intimidate anyone anymore.

CKD has to make changes with this staff. I can take getting beat but I cannot take the lack of intensity, lack of preparation, lack of physical play and overall apathy. I don’t care who you are, if you cannot run the ball, you can not win against tough teams. In closing, I will say we recruit top players but we DO NOT develop those players. RTR!

I can’t really put into words how I feel about what happened yesterday, but I will try. Disappointed and embarrassed!!! That’s about the best I can do. The same things that plagued this team all year reared their ugly heads and got flat out exposed by a good hard nosed football team that simply out physicalled us all game long. Now, Indiana might get beat next week against Oregon, but that bunch is definitely going to try and impose their will. Some changes have to be made by DeBoer, starting with staff. OL and ST were both jokes. We played musical chairs with the OL like someone changing their underwear and it wasn’t done due to injury. We abandoned punt returns almost exclusively in order to secure the catch, yet on kickoff returns, when they will give you the ball at the 25 if you simply fair catch it. We say ā€œfuck that! Let’s catch it 2-3 yards deep in the end zone and not even reach the 20!!! Doud was inconsistent as well and seemed to take as long to kick the ball as what I do sometimes getting out of bed! I was at a pucker factor of 8 on every punt out of fear of it getting blocked! Talty, despite his yips early, seemed to be the lone bright spot.
Offensively, Grubb has GOT to do a better job! He, himself, showed the uncanny ability to kill a drive or momentum without any help needed from the players.

Can totally agree......
seemed we had breakdowns in one aspect or other....all along....if it wasnt one thing...it was the other....
Till this game..when most everything broke down...

But...the one thing that gets me....
3 embarrassing losses last year
3 this year...
Thats...EMBARRASSING LOSSES....

Is that gonna be the KD mantra moving forward....play great...today...get embarrassed the next game..not just lose...get embarrassed

The symptoms of mediocrity

Cigniti the first call

After watching the first two games of the playoffs this weekend and before the Rose Bowl, it was quite obvious the refs were singing from the same hymnal and that was to NOT throw flags unless the state DA could press charges. I told my wife then, "if this is the way its going to be, BAMA needs to hold on every offensive play and see if a flag is thrown or mug every wide receiver that even thinks about catching something". Didn't happen as much as it should have.

We were as stale as 2 week old bread.
