🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Indiana

So what ur saying is. Ur pretty happy with way things are?????? Lol.
In the next week go or so rewatch the game and don't look at anything but the IU offense. You will a design that is so impressive and each player does his job play after play. On each run play our guys were blocked (held in most cases). Their RB's were great. We had chances on passing downs to get the passer instead we fuked that up by poor tackling over and over.

Cignetti had a hard on for this game. He gave a lesson to Kalen.

Honestly, I’m not all that surprised by the result itself. I’ve always thought this Alabama team was comparable to the late-80s Denver Broncos: a good team, solid quarterback play, "win by the seat of your pants", but ultimately lacking the horses to beat truly elite, physical opponents. Tonight, Indiana was that elite, physical team.

I do think Alabama improved in 2025 compared to last year. The team was more disciplined, penalties were cleaned up, the defense was better overall, and quarterback play was more consistent, even if it wasn’t elite. Where this team was held back was painfully obvious: poor offensive line play, average to below-average running back production, and wide receivers who were solid but not game-changing.

My biggest disappointment isn’t the loss itself...it’s the optics. Alabama has been the gold standard of college football for the better part of two decades, and getting pushed around like that on national television is not a good look. That’s what fucking sucks yall.

As for CKD, I’ve been patient, and I still think he’s the right guy. But year three is where results start to matter more than explanations. If 2026 ends up being another 10-3 or 11-4 season with losses in the biggest games, then that’s no longer bad luck...that’s a trend. Winning games but not winning big games is something the head coach ultimately has to answer for.

My expectations for next year are simple and reasonable by Alabama standards. I want to see them competing for a national title. Ideally, that means winning the SEC. If they don’t win the SEC, then I want at least two playoff wins. What I don’t want to see are inexcusable losses (FSU) or getting embarrassed on big stages (SEC Championship or this afternoon's shit show). If that keeps happening into 2026, then DeBoer will have to take a hard look at what needs to change. Until then, I see this loss as disappointing, ugly, and unacceptable in presentation... sadly, this loss is not shocking given the offensive performances we've seen this past year.

100 years to the day, on the same field, where Alabama Football sent a shocking notice to the entire nation that Southern Football owned the throne, Indiana walks in and claims the rights. Amazing if you stop and think about it.

Lack of tackling disappoints me. As far as the running game, I’m not sure that Derrick Henry would have had luck behind this line. Makes you question why we were still trying out different combinations 9-10 games in. Still with all that we bitch about, this would be a banner year for most programs. I do think that the lack of a hard nosed running game affects the defense. You tend to play like you practice.

Do not need year 3, there is already a trend we just do not like what it is...

To me the issue is accountability that demands nothing short of excellence and calls it out when it falls short. It creates the mindset that demands the work and preperation required to get the job done and never allows the players or coaches to be comfortable or satisfied. Xs and Os matter as well as Jimmies and Joes BUT just as important is mindset. Bear and CNS were masters at the mental part of the game. Lots of coaches can scheme and recruit. Great coaches master the mental aspect of the game that creates a winning culture that gets results at an elite level (MTAQ mentality).

That loss was only the 4th biggest loss in CFP history (hat tip to Georgia stomping TCU). But we did get our name in the annuls of history as the first team to lose to a team coming off a bye in the CFP. Those teams are now 1-6 with 6 blowouts. Ole Miss may provide us company the way their game is going.

With Shula teams we'd be playing in the Kohler's Toilet Bowl
Agreed. At least they wouldn’t quit.

I’m embarrassed of this team currently. In a day or two, I’ll be fine. I’m just extremely frustrated at how inconsistent and lethargic this team was most of the season. Even in wins, we struggled to do simple things like gain a yard in the ground or get a play off before the freaking play clock ran out. I don’t feel like this team improved at all. It took steps back, really since the South Carolina game.

They need to look into the offseason program and Ballou.. That is where the team needs the most change..The edge was lost when the "science program" came..

That Indiana team that drug Bama up and down the field in Pasadena uses the same science based strength and conditioning approach that UA uses.
