🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Auburn

Just an observation. Draw from it what you will.

Georgia gave up 318 yards to Auburn. 159 for Bama. (.500)
Georgia gave up 10 in regulation. Overtime. Equal defensive scoring efficiency.
Georgia gave up 272 through the air. Bama 137. (.503)
Georgia gave up 46 on the ground. Bama 40.

...just a rabbit hole I fell into.

Thank you.
As the saying goes,”we get everyone’s best effort”. I hope and pray that the coaches have us ready for georgia’s best! Kirby wants this bad! Maybe he’ll over coach and scheme.

Was that with bo peep or not?

In all the talk about Bryce let's not forget Jordan Battle. His tackle on Tank saved that game.

I have seen someone say "Gary said that 150 times last night." I didn't know that; muted.
To be fair, Gary was lamenting the fact that Auburn had not run that extra 40 seconds off the clock so that the game would have been over earlier. 🤣 He couldn’t get past it. Battle made the tackle for loss on 1st down on the left side and then that tackle on 2nd down on the right side. He saved the game at that point.

My dad, a Georgia fan, kept trying to say Tank was an idiot for going out of bounds. I 100% feel like Battle carried him out of bounds on that play. Tank tried falling down, albeit way late, but Battle definitely needs the assist there.

They had Bo. The biggest difference in the two (what Finley did and what Bo has been doing) is yards per game—@ 80 yards—Finley was six or seven attempts shy of what Bo normally throws. Finley's completion percentage was a tad higher.

Good rabbit hole … but I went down another one. In the four games with common opponents (Florida, Arkansas, Auburn and Tennessee) Georgia scored 146 points and gave up only 34. Bama scored 149 points and gave up 110. I’m on record predicting a Bama win but I did so over my concern about our offense being able to score on Georgia’s defense. LSU and now Auburn have shown how to disrupt Young with constant pressure. Put your best pass rushers over the right tackle spot and let him loose. Of course, both Auburn and LSU put a lot a pressure right up the middle too. They both showed it’s better to sacrifice numbers in coverage to put more rushing Young than giving him more time. And other than Neal, this O-line is a mess no matter who’s playing center or right tackle. Nonetheless, Georgia players will be consuming massive amounts of the dreaded rat poison this week while Bama’s will receive the opposite. These are still youngsters and that stuff affects them so I’m counting on it for once working in Bama’s favor.

Thanks for answering. We need to show a little more life and oline has to…… be motivationally challenged to perform!? They have got to show something more than a limp member!!!

Good- played as badly as we could play and still won. Just saw the game I recorded, the last 3 minutes and OT.

BAD- DB’s we still have tremendous trouble getting off the field on 3rd don passing plays.

UGLY- OL 🤦‍♂️

OK, now that I am breathing again....
Good: Victory against the swamp rat buzzards. (Also, the look on the face of Bo Nix at the end. - priceless)
Bad: Injuries that have depleted key positions.
Ugly: OL -just can't protect Young against aggressive Ds nor can they consistently open holes for RBs

Good:
-Defensive Line was tremendous. Played their most physical game I can remember seeing in a long time
-WR's stepping up. Mechie and Brooks... Those guys were out there making big time plays with the season on the line
-Bryce. That kid just has a great ability to stay calm, cool, and collected. Wasn't pretty but he has elite mental toughness
-Will Reichard coming through! Great job by him.
-Defense in general... LB's were flying around and the DB's were active. Despite the overrun by Hellams on the TD, he probably played his best game in Crimson

Bad:
-OL Play. Obviously it's a problem that just has no easy answers. Getting tougher and tougher to point the finger at O'Brien when both pass & run blocking are a struggle.
-Officiating. Just so many questionable calls. The 1 that stuck with me was the block in the back by an OL... I was under the impression that was legal if it was behind the LOS. Could be wrong. But a handful of other head scratching calls as well

Ugly:
-That botched FG hold. I feel for that kid... It's become a mental thing. CNS finally has his stud kicker and now it's a task to get the ball down for him! Great job by the backup to come in and execute under pressure

MY PLAY OF THE GAME - Might have gone unnoticed with the crazy amount of disappointment following the botched FG, but Auburn tried to run to Will Anderson's side and he just stuffed the RB about 3 yards behind the LOS. The reason I point that out is because all momentum was going against the Good Guys, and that play just signaled the D and ultimately the team was not going anywhere. Would have been easy to give an inch there, but he's just too special. Gamechanger!

I thought the same thing. He has had some challenges this year but he appeared to be very active in this game. Was great to see. For that matter it was great to see the entire Defense playing at very high level for the entire game. Again not against a great offense and a backup QB but anytime you hold any SEC team to 150 yards your defense is dominating.
