šŸˆ The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Auburn

I could throat punch BoB and his staff. That’s just me, I voiced my concerns before the season about his ā€œfeelā€ for the flow of the game.
I am glad we won, but looking back, I do wish we had used the up tempo more. With our o-line deficiencies, I also wish we had adjusted more to their blitzes. More swing passes, slants, ECT. After the LSU game, we should have known that teams would blitz a lot more, yet we haven't seemed to find an answer to beat them consistently

So you’re happy with the flow of play calling and in general? The crap blocking is maybe the worst in a while.
No, I'm not happy to scrape by against a .500 barn team. I'm saying that if a guy drops a ball or three, or an OL whiffs on a block and the QB has to throw it away, any playcall scheme gets mucked up.

In my Good, Bad and Ugly statement, I mentioned that I believe some coaches have checked out. As you said it was abnormal. Maybe they have already been told or the see the writing on the wall about next year. That poorly of a prepared team did not add up for sure.
You think they know they're not being retained, or we split our energy preparing for UGA?

Good... We beat Alabama Polytechnic Institute
Bad.... Coach Saban can now stop blaming the fans for not having his team prepared! We are not blind Coach Saban
Our O-line sucks Coach our team got handled for 3 1/2 quarters how many mistakes, dropped passes, bone headed penalties, undisciplined
Ugly... We have to play jawga next week with that O-line we will be lucky if the Dogs don't step on our face with a HOBNAIL BOOT!

Understood but as you know it probably would not have mattered where he played them because he had buried their program. Their hope was that one day the Bear would die.
No, I don't "know" that, and neither does anyone else. It's subjective opinion and it can never be proven. It is a mitigating caveat and it is a legit caveat - Bear never had to play at Jordan Hare

You are absolutely correct that Bear never played at the cow pasture. Certainly cannot dispute that. Everything is indeed speculation. My belief is based on the state of their program and Bama's, it would be likely that it would not have mattered where they played. Of course all of this is opinion and could never be proven. I will say I never gave the Barn a 2nd thought in the 70's as a challenging game growing up but of course that was in Legion Field.

I'm gonna try to not get too negative (TRY) here... but I will start with the first three quarters was some of the most hideous football I've seen an Alabama team play under Nick Saban, and I am including the 2007 team. That was embarrassing. The defense did its job save for a couple of drives - and were put in some AWFUL situations - but the offense was just mind-blowingly awful. How this offensive line is THIS bad still is just unreal.

With that said, the fact that with EVERYTHING that could have possibly go wrong did and to still pull that out is pretty unbelievable. We used to say Tua and Jalen had ice in their veins but it completely pales in comparison to Bryce Young. You might as well call that man Sub-Zero at this point. He was running for his damn life all night long and still came through. That throw to Brooks at the end of the fourth was about as clutch a throw in the history of Alabama football - maybe only behind the Tua throw in the natty. That kid has brass balls, especially to throw it to a freshman who has barely played whatsoever this season. And speaking that, kudos to Brooks. Holy hell, man. The best receiver in the country is out and he comes in and makes two of the biggest catches - on the same drive - of the year. He's earned more playing time.

And going back to the defense... I don't want to go too far out there because Auburn's offense is pitiful... but they were put in some awful situations and bailed the offense out time after time. Will Anderson Jr. is an absolute man and I am so happy I was so off base about him. Kudos to Kool-Aid stepping up and making several big plays, too.

I know this is supposed to be good, bad and ugly but this was the best thread I thought to ramble lol I dont wanna think about next week lol

Good- we won! Defense was lights out!! BY stayed cool even when things were sideways!!

Bad- our OL for the first 58 minutes!!

Ugly- penalties!!! 11 for 129 yards!!! WTH?!!🤬
The zebras were paying heed to Bo Pix’s words weren’t they? Good grief!!!
Can we fire Doug Marrone’s ass straight into the sun? We get all of these 4&5* OL and we haven’t developed a good shit!!! OL play has been awful with exception to Neal. McLaughlin seemed to provide some stability at Center.

I usually go out of my way to not read Tweets from fans of the "other team" before, during or after a game but I am so damn glad I broke that tonight. Their tears will hydrate me for life.

My thoughts:

1. Regardless of how the season ends, the offensive line coach needs to be shit canned. The O-Line this year has been absolutely awful, and considering the talent on Alabama's roster, it is unacceptable to have such disgusting performances from the offensive line.

2. On the topic of the offense, I am not in the opinion that Bill O Brian needs to go. He is a very solid OC (not great compared to Sarkisian or Kiffin mind you), and I would simply state that the stunted offensive performances this year have been largely due to the awful offensive line play (that doesn't mean however that some of his playcalling this year hasn't sucked FYI).

3. This will probably be the most famous Iron Bowl win for Alabama in its history, eclipsing even the 1985 Iron Bowl. I am shocked that Alabama won this game. Not one thing went their way for 90% of the game, and they found a way. Even if Alabama didn't win this evening, I still would've been proud about how they clawed back. I am also glad that we punched Auburn right in the gut, the same way they usually do Alabama at Jordan Hare Stadium.

4. Looking ahead to Georgia, Ill say this. I don't think Alabama is as good as a team as UGA is this year. What concerns me about Georgia is the fact that their defense is fucking nasty, and our offensive line is atrocious. That is not a good matchup. I do think our defense is very capable of limiting their offense, and that bodes well for us. I expect next weeks game to be a 21-17 type of game, and a tossup.

If CBS still has their All22 coverage available, watch it. I say that to lead into this...

If the receivers were getting any kind of separation last night this game, and a lot of others, would have gone drastically different. For more than one reason they weren't getting open last night and when they did? Windows.

I'm not defending anything here—it's not the point. I am pointing to one thing that's led to a lot of the disappointments this season.

And going back to the defense... I don't want to go too far out there because Auburn's offense is pitiful...
A thought.

Point to a game where Finley has done as well as he did last night? He's not seen a lot of action, so there's not a lot to refer back to as a comparison, right?

Three of the ten games this season Bo had a better completion rate...just a stat I glanced at last night as the game was progressing.

In all the talk about Bryce let's not forget Jordan Battle. His tackle on Tank saved that game.

I have seen someone say "Gary said that 150 times last night." I didn't know that; muted.
