| FTBL Updates on Alabama players that are entering the transfer portal...

Atlanta sports talk show said Downs is headed to UGA. Of course, pundits can say anything. I caught the tail end of the comment so I have no idea if there’s any merit to it. It’s an absolute feeding frenzy on sports talk shows. So much Bama hatred has turned into their delight over what’s happening and going to happen now that the king (Saban) is dead long live the king (Smart).

Here’s what I know from long experience. The Tide will rise again. I know that because Bama has had four coaches win multiple NC’s. No other program can make the same claim. Moreover, Bama’s won a NC in every decade since the 1920’s save the 50’s and 80’s (and in my opinion the 40’s are questionable). Even still, no other program comes close. The reason that’s the case is Bama fans will never settle for mediocrity and anything less than a NC is a mediocre result. Tide fans would never for example “roll trees” because of an offseason occurrence or because they beat a rival at the end of a 5 loss season. It wouldn’t even cross our minds to do something so silly.

I’ve said this in other posts over the years but it’s still the truth as I see it. We Bama fans might have to deal with a drought of some duration following the unbelievable ride we’ve been on over the past 17 seasons … but history tells us it won’t be longer than a decade or so because we won’t tolerate it. I’m not sure I’ll live to see it but I’m confident my children and grandchildren will. Bama fans my age have been so blessed … during our lifetimes Bama has won 13 NC … 13! What a ride!

My source was pretty confident that the team is sticking it out, if Deboer is signed here I think a lot of this will calm down.

Also, I did point out earlier, that there were numerous pundits and people from different schools saying Caleb Downs is transferring to them.

I can list a few:
Oregon
Texas
Texas A&M
Auburn
Georgia
Ohio State

Will we lose some guys because of this change? Probably will, but for now let's let the new coach come in and see if he can take care of the fears some of these guys have.

We may still lose them, but if that's how they are then so be it, we may have a down year but I believe whoever it is will have the tools to get us back to where we want to be.

I think someone was asking about that Buford to Bama pipeline by the way. Kirby posted a picture with the Buford Coach earlier today, pretty sure that pipeline is gone now..doesn't mean we won't grab a guy or two eventually though.
