🏈 This year's JR class may not be finished yet- Devonta Smith returning?

Lewis needs to move on, Im not going into the fact that his Bama career was more about the fact he might be healthy enough to play some meaningful downs than be the game changer his was supposed to be or forecasted to be be, again in my opinion Baramore was more impressive along the line and was more of a game changer in limited play than was Lewis so yes Lewis please move on, Diggs had some good moments but also had moments where his coverage was awful rarely does he ever turn his head around when the ball is in the air from what I have seen this I cant understand as that is db 101, I think he could have done himself a favor with another year in the system but hey if he can get the money then go

Aaaaaand let the mud slinging begin!!! lol

Just for the record I sling a good amount of mud all year long, not just bowl season

On the bright side, a great opportunity for some younger guys to not only play, but play well. As noted by @UAgrad93 - Jobe & Allen in particular. I'm shocked at how little of Allen we saw this year despite needing a pass rush presence, but now he gets his chance.

Allen looked slow to me when I was able to watch him in action. Didn’t have the initial burst that 33 (or even 24) had off the ball. I wonder if he is 100% back to where he was before the knee injury?

Recruiting is not a science.....Bama's 2016 class had a total of 24. 10 of those (many no longer at Bama) and even more ain't it. That is with Nick Saban doing the recruiting.

I got the feeling that 50 is allowing his hatred for Time Magazine - because IDK honestly - make him look down at SI, too. Unless SI has done a bunch of underhanded or just bad reported that I have never seen, I dont get it.
Josh...probably read more Time and SIs through the years than most....
And for more years than most would count.... or me admit...
No hatred.... but so damn slanted .... and irresponsible..... just have zero respect for the publications..... fake news...period
I reference 2 articles....Atlanta Braves....moving to suburbs and the attack on Dabo and his religious convictions.... just crap articles....when SI was about sports and not interjection of politics... probably more...maybe only 2...so I don’t really read either anymore... flipped through last several of SIs...without reading a word....
Sorry i srill get SI...killed Time years ago...
Hatred..was your word... not mine

Diggs not playing...well...i have said what i want to say about being part of a team....and not being there for your teammates.... but thats this generation...
Could...not say anything and just work it out with coach...but no....gotta make it a "me "moment......well....had some good moments....on the field....but...ready to move on...
Lewis...man i dont blame him with that injury history....
But...could do same.......

I cant blame Lewis for not playing. He has had one injury after another and 1 more would probably end his career. That said even with his amazing size and talent he will be a mid 2nd round to 4th round pick. He is a situational player who is very injury prone. I think another year without injury would be best for him but cant blame him for taking off if he doesn't believe he can make it. Although the NFL isnt stupid so that decision will cost him 10's of millions of dollars.

Diggs has the size and the speed for corner in the NFL. I wish he would play to support his team but he never has been a leader.. so not surprised he isn't playing.

Just saying, read it if you want and you can enjoy their opinion but I promise very few have any access now a days because few have been proven to be reliable with access. Cecil Hurt is one of the few guys with any access at Bama and probably has much more info that he knows than what he shares.
Christopher Walsh writes for SI.

@50+yeartidefan a suggestion on the consider the source routine.

Matt mentions Walsh who is a guy that's been in Tuscaloosa since 2004 as I recall. He's been through several outlets including the newspaper, recruiting sites, and he's written book(s) about his time there; Saban specific in a lot of situations. He's a fairly good read.

Walsh also runs the Bama Central site which is SI's arm into Alabama athletics. He has people who work with/for him to supply that content. The majority of it comes from Chris himself. In this case not only is Chris commenting on the guys returning but Cary Clark is as well. He's the one who wrote the article in the first place.

Cary has been covering Alabama going back to the days of Bama Magazine. I'm talking about the print edition there though he did continue to/through Bamamag.com which was the Internet version of the site.

Ironically, another of the three at the front of this story is the owner/editor of Bama Magazine, Kirk McNair. He's continued with that through Scout's acquisition by the 247 group of companies (CBS and the like.)

That's one that that really shocked me. I'd bet you've got some of Kirk's stuff around your house and you're calling him fake news. 🤷‍♂️

By the way, if you didn't know it already, McNair was in the SID back under Bryant. He's been around a while.

Everyone else has followed their lead up until now.

As it stands today, there are four I'd consider gone and there's still no reason to doubt what's been reported.

Diggs is projected to go pretty high (late first round). I think he is a very good cover corner. I question how physical he is but not his cover skills. These guys are trying to cover some elite WR's. The WR's are going to win some. My biggest complaint about Diggs was his tackling especially against #22 in the LSWho game and his bump and run against physical receivers at the line of scrimmage.

Regardless the NFL teams will not draft someone in the first round they do not think is very good!!!!

Lord have mercy. Where to start.
Bama mag. Kirk mcnair. Yep. Read his stuff all the time. Yep knew he was sid. Yep have a bunch of them. Curious as to point?
Yep several many reporting who is going. Who is staying. Many on this forum. I could write a column about it. But NS hasn't really told anybody. All i said is ... reference ur source. Just to say as u know.. and are speculating.. is bs..
Been reading SIs a long time. From boyhood
The mag is garbage. Very disappointing. I grew up a lover of sports mags. If u love it FINE... great. Wonderful. I don't ...its like believing everything Finebaum throws out as truth ( been around longer than 2004... but you really think he has nicks ear.. only in his ego)
See Cecils article... reference of nick saban as his source. Got credibility .. good journalism
So all n all. I don't know ur point!!!!!!
Seriously!!! I don't!!!
