Since we stay in Northport/coker. Gonna try that steakhouse

Been eating catfish at Front Porch on 43

Not much to choose from other than fast food chains and Mexican places, but IMO, best spots in Northport...

Archibalds on MLK... Ribs. (they get my vote for best in the world).

Brown Bag... A hidden gem meat and 3 place... also good ribs.

Catfish Charlies... Walkup and order joint that has exploded in popularity since Covid. Inflation has taken a toll on the value, but still a pretty good grab and go meal if you like catfish and hushpuppies.

Hick's BBQ... Not going to win any awards in terms of AL BBQ, but IMO, much better pork (chopped) than Bama BBQ, although Bama BBQ has them beat slightly on the sauce.

Buddy's Rib and Steak... Best breakfast (worst parking).

Billy's (downtown)... Been a good while since I've been there, but I always enjoyed the food and atmosphere (usually sit outside).

I've heard the wings at Bama BBQ are really good. But I've either had bad luck on my handful of visits, or don't understand the pulled pork popularity. They stay packed though, so I guess they are doing something right. The bar for BBQ sandwiches (not ribs) is way too low in this area though... a lot of average at best places.

Good - Defense, Special Teams, and Milroe's ability to set aside some mistakes and continue to play forward. Mentioned soecial teams all around, but the blocked punt in the endzone was great and a hustle play.

Bad - wide open middle of the field and wondering where the middle linebacker is on pretty much every pass play over the middle. McLaughlin struggling big time. Been a proponent of his, but he is making it impossible anymore.

Ugly - 4th and freaking 23. Steele outta be docked pay for that bullshit call and rushing three guys and giving Dart all day to hit that wheel route. Also, how bad I wanted to slap Saban/Rees/Milroe/anyone involved in the decision making to go from the shotgun after a gift on the goaline from the blocked punt. We have experienced bad snaps and decide not to go safe from under center and pay for it by losing 22 yards and settling for three.

Ugly Part 2 - the fact we left ATLEAST 11 points on the board from dumb mistakes. Four from the bad snap on the goaline. Then seven for the interception in the endzone that is six all day long if he throws jt to a wide open Burton on the shorter route. Game should have looked better score wise.

He needs serious rehab work….
If only Coach Homer Smith were still with us today. That man could teach anyone and everyone about coverages. We were taught to identify the Mike and number of safeties pre snap. Yes, they can disguise to a certain extent, but they have to anticipate snap and sprint to their assignments. Also, another key to look at was Corner depth.

You are spot on...that 4th n 23 reminded me of bama vs tennessee...on the 5 ot game...had tennessee in 4 th n forever and kines rushes 2...let tn make first n cost us game.,

Not sure why bama hasnt put someone else at center...the snaps are distracting...to milroe...they are all over the place..

One other...good...fans chanting "Milroe-Milroe-Milroe " after that hit he took and he jumped up

Would you care to talk a little more in depth about the coverage and reading?

Unfortunately, that seems to be everywhere. And it just keeps getting worse...

Single high safety with tight corners leads you to believe a man free coverage with a single safety to play centerfield, backed off corners often is some type of zone coverage aka cover 3 with nothing allowed behind them, playing 1/3s. Two high safeties can be a zone with 2 safeties playing deep halves and everyone “underneath playing short to intermediate areas. Corners will continue to drop unless a receiver comes into their area in front of them. Other times, with the 2 high safeties, you may have man to man underneath them and they are there to help deep. The stance of corners pre snap can also be a good indicator. If they are tight, hips turned inside toward the QB is often zone while hips turned toward sideline means some type of man coverage.
