I can't argue that drop off, but what's to say NIL isn't the reason it caused them to not prepare properly. Agiye Hall was mad for lack of playing time and his ability to get deals after a breakout A-Day. That led to his unhappiness, not being focused, and ultimate transfer. Holden, Brooks, and others were all four and five star guys, so no drop off in ability. We won the SEC Championship by like three touchdowns because we blocked. Bryce ran for his life and garbage play calling in the Natty, not all on the receivers and said drop off. I do not agree that the talent has dropped off so far at Alabama that we seemingly got all the recruits everyone else wanted, yet we somehow got all the ones that by percentage wouldn't pan out. Never been our MO. We're also talking a lot of young guys. We've been spoiled recently with D-1 ready starters and you just don't see that often, so I'm not as upset with Brooks and others last year, especially after he saved us against Auburn.
Even with all that said, Bryce still threw for 370 against "the best defense ever" in the Natty. So where exactly is the drop off you're speaking to? A timely drop is not falling off a cliff, and young receivers as well as veteren ones drop passes. We going to say Gubbs has fallen off due to his drop against Tennessee that ices it?
