Mizzou played some 'scrappy ball' last night: played with a lot of intensity. They are tougher than last years team. They, like every other team in week one, need to clean up their tackling. I believe Drink did a good job preparing them for what was inevitable. Pretty good QB in Robinson as well.

I thought they were a bit on the thuggish side, but, yes, really good intensity. I sensed their 1's took it personal when our 2's showed up, and made it a point to be better. I haven't watched the replay of our kicker's mugging, but the live viewing had me a bit upset.

Based on what I watched week one, I think Mizzou is likely the fourth place team in the east, and that is with their harsh west games.

Good- our field goal kicking, been a LONG time saying that.

Bad- some mental breakdowns, to be expected in the first game.

Ugly- 2nd team OL. Game experience and reps in practice should help.

Forgot to mention this in the "Good" - LaBryan Ray back on the field! And looking good! Such a bonus to the DL... And if he stays healthy, I'll expect him to be a game wrecker as the season progresses...

Good - We came out looking good. Not flat like MANY other teams. Really looked like a team that is backing up all of that "pissed off about 2019" stuff. The speed on defense looked amazing. William Anderson was as advertised and shot out of a cannon, just like Dylan Moses. Malachi Moore had a solid game as well from what I saw. Offense looked very sharp and precise. Waddle got screwed out of a touchdown in my mind, but we still got the six next play. All in all, a lot to be excited about and a team i honestly saw that could win the Natty.

Bad - Not covering

Ugly - The 2nd team offensive line was just awful. Poor Trey Sanders had nine carries for 1 yard. He had nowhere to run. Bryce didn't have much time to do anything either. Definitely gotta fine tune that in case the virus hits the team.

Our LBs have been getting fooled on the wheel routes for far too long. Normally happens to the strong side when they have to fight through some “natural picks” and they just lose him.

Good:
Solid win; 1st offense and defense were solid for a first game; FG was accurate; Kicking game put several kickoffs out of the endzone.

Bad:
Wasn't impressed with Bryce Young considering all the hype; Ben Davis was getting a lot of hype in the preseason but he didn't show up until late in the game

Ugly:
The 2s looked horrible; #16 Drew Sanders was nowhere near where he should have been; Trey Sanders didn't live up to his hype

So was it Drew Sanders that busted his coverage? I saw Saban talking to him as he walked off the field, but I wasn't sure if that was his guy after he jammed his man off the line of scrimmage and then the back wheeled out.

Trey Sanders got piss poor blocking granted , but he also did not seem to fight for any yards. To my eye he was folding at contact

the mix of 1s and 2s on defense at the end appeared pretty sad across the board

Looking at the TD again, Jobe has the deep guy/playside TE. It looks as though either Moses or Sanders was to have the RB out of the backfield and the other was to have the backside TE sneaking back across. It looks like Sanders started to sink with the RB after jamming the TE but then sat on the 2nd TE, allowing Moses to get caught in "no mans" land.

I saw someone mention the game has been posted on youtube. I haven't looked. I do know it's scheduled to be replayed today at 10:30 ET. I may try to catch the replay this morning. If you do...watch for:

On the play in question Sanders had the wide side but covered the tight end running an inside curl. Moses had that assignment and was pointing to the RB (watch for that wheel route) and Sanders just missed his call.
