šŸˆ The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Jawga

I thought UGA would get us in the 2nd half but The Tide held on. Huge win.

Lot of good and the punter did a great job. Looks like his range is about 50-55 yards from toe to receiver. That will do fine.

Bad is the problems we're having get containment on these runs over and over.

Ugly was that FG attempt.

DB's #1 and #2 aren't very good. I think we had some other players in the secondary late in the game. Hope they can get improved play soon.

I think everyone is little frustrated with our DBs and their performance, but I have to remind you and others that not all is on them.

The Good- Poise. I was there on the 50, row 2. These guys were completely unphased by Sanford Stadium & it was loud as hell. My ears were ringing afterwards. I watched the team how they handled Jawja's punches. They had a errie calmness about them.

Masterful gameplan. And they stuck with it. There was no panic despite not scoring in the second half. I was happy to see the defense make several stops against a fired up offense. That 4th down stop that tripped up Cash Jones was HUGE (took the air out of the stadium BTW). If he hadn't of been tripped, he would have walked in. This was the first BIG defensive stand from this team this season. Dare I say EVER under Wommack?

Simpson & the WR corp is something special. As others have mentioned, comparable to the 2020 team. IF Williams can STFU & practice, he might actually be a superstar. 17 is going to be special. That catch & run where he broke several tackles made many Dawgies bellow.

The OL rotation. I was really disappointed that Roberts only had 7 snaps. Either he must be really hurt or dare I say, he's getting beat. I must tip my hat to what Deboer is doing with this rotation. CNS never did this, especially in BIG games. It's just wild they will still moving guys around in the middle of the game.

3rd down coversion was INCREDIBLE. In case you missed Cole Cubelic said that 'Bama had 13 3rd down coversions & that has not been done to UGA in 30 years. WOW! Folks, BIG ROLL TIDE ROLL to CKD!

The Bad- The run defense was, simply put, terrible. Some of this is due to Kirby's committment to the run. But we were gashed, bad. On the left side, a lot. Fortunately, the Defense adjusted & made their stop but boy they need the work. Fortunately, this is something that can be improved.

The Running Backs. How has the 'Bama running game taken such a hit? Jam Miller was pretty good & I appreciate Grubb's committment to the run with the 38 runs. But to not have a RB who can demoralize a defense? We don't have that. We need that.

R Williams. For the kid to have been doing workouts with Devonta Smith over the summer..... to have these drops? What the actual F.....? I am just fine with someone else starting over him. Perhaps, that's what he needs.

The UGLY- The Kicker shanking all the way to Pell City I thought somebody blocked it. But nah.

The Beautiful- My wife. She surprised me back in April for my birthday with tickets on the 50, row 2, right behind the 'Bama bench. As much of a knockout she is to look at, her heart won the day for me. Hell, she believed in the beauty of this game before I did. There was a time I almost dreaded it. But it was just so damn awesome. Especially when I started hearing all the Jawja fans bellowing "I HATE ALABAMA!!!!" All I could do is the Michael Jordan shrugg. B E A U T I F U L

This Team Is Starting to Believe. I could be dead wrong. But something about last night, the way this team pimp slapped Jawja all night long. . . . . was a sight to see. This may be how the house of CKD is being built & I just think it's a beautiful in the same way CNS did all those years ago in the Blackout at the same place.

Good for both of y'all. Great game to attend and watch happen. Glad y'all had a blast and Roll Tide.

Our offensive line was great. We may not have gotten the push we wanted for the run game, but Ty was clean and took no hits from their rush. I mean, we would have only wished for that in the last number of weeks when you look back at the comments. I'm saying ZERO sacks, ZERO!!! Box score shows one, but I don't recall a sack sack.
Maybe that 4th and 1 where Simpson was tackled for a loss is what they are considering? Not sure but I agree with you about the OL in this game. Honeslty our run game was good when it needed to be. In a game like that I will take the 3 yard runs that moves us towards a manageable 3rd down especailly when we convert 3rd downs like we did in this game.

My only complaint on offense is no points in the 2nd half. That will get you beat. On D that is another story but it starts with poor run defense.

I think you are hearing push back on a road win against the #5 team because even though the results were good and a lot of good things happened, we all know the 2nd half Bama will not hold up and run the table.

I am putting that 4th and 1 on the play call, just like I am two of the 2nd Half series where we ran the ball on 1st and 2nd down for no gain which put us in tough 3rd and long when Georgia had been beat in the air all night long. It got me feeling warm and fuzzy in a way like I had just been caught doing something I shouldn't have due to the reminder of how we took our foot off the pedal last year. We knew their rush would be a challenge. We play like we did any other game this year and we get beat. These guys did a great job. Think about it, Tennessee couldn't handle them and got beat. Our guys did handle them and we won.

Speaking of that:

More interesting, however, was that at times Wilkin Formby kicked inside to RG to play alongside RT Michael Carroll. Redshirt freshman William Sanders got extended work this week and seemed to play well. Freshman Jackson Lloyd's snaps came as a sixth offensive lineman when Alabama decided to go heavy.
