🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. FSU

The money isn't going to magically appear because he losses more games. The very last thing Byrne is going to spend funds on is a buyout that large that squeezes and strains other areas of the AD, collective/NIL, and fundraising. For better or worse, his approach to everything begins and ends in terms of what is most financially responsible for the athletic department.

I feel those two things are directly intertwined. Anyone that thinks people will continue to pour money into a losing product are gonna be sorely disappointed when it doesn't happen.

I personally feel today lost a lot of support and nothing short of a 10-2 season is gonna restore any trust.

Texas lost due to Arch looking like complete shit, but their defense looked amazing. We didn't look good in any aspect of the game. I can take a loss as a #1 team if we struggle in an area. I cannot respect a loss to an un-ranked team and getting your ass handed to you and looking lost in every aspect of the game while doing it.

What specifically?
9000 mentions of a new coach, meltdowns of Auburn proportions, just read most of the replies.

The first drive was good, Bernard played a good game, qb play was better than the majority of the last 2 years

Bad, thought the run game plan went away too soon. Should've tried field goals on a couple of those 4th downs. Too many deep throws when the offensive line was having trouble. Penalties.

Ugly was the defense and being manhandled by an ACC team, not sure if that's strength and conditioning or intestinal fortitude. Didn't want Wommack when he was hired and he sure hasn't changed my mind, he's been inconsistent everywhere.

The Good- The opening drive was absolutely fantastic. Or shall I say the SCRIPTED opening drive was brilliant. Simpson did a hell of a job for his first start in THAT stadium with that revamped team. I think he handled it as well as we could have asked considering those cirmstances.

The Bad- As of today...... the DL is miserable. Keenan was a loss for sure but it can't ALL be about his absence. Wommack has an uphill battle to impress me at this point. I was desperate to see something better. I was gravely disappointed.

When is my head coach going to start coaching guys during the game. This ShulaLostLookIntoTheStands is for the birds. If you look lost, you can bet your players feel the same.

We should have kicked the field goal. PERIOD. Quit this act of desperation 4th down attempts. Get points. Grind out the game to put your team in a position to win & the odds are the OTHER team will mess up after wearing down.

The UGLY- Either FSU is THE turnaround story of the this season or 'Bama is actually soft despite the hard offseason & fall camp (sarcasm). They WERE PHYSICAL & 'Bama didn't match it. The REAL Ugly is that I have yet to see a Deboer team match the physicality of any team that gets after them. It's hard for me to feel good about state of the football program when other (unranked teams) are bitch slapping 'Bama==> READ THAT AGAIN!!!

Enough talk. Enough patting each other on the back. Enough 'believing in this team'.

Show me. Otherwise STFU

Good- opening drive! 16 plays 75 yards 8+ minutes and some “take your lunch money” runs.
Bad- we then proceeded to play like the bunch that went out to Norman last year.
Ugly- after taking their lunch money that opening drive, FSU proceeded to take it back PLUS 1000% interest!!
I held out hope when it was 24-17 and it looked like we had them at 3rd and 9 with a stop by Domani Jackson, but lo and behold, James Smith has to come in late like a WWE wrestler from the top rope with a flying elbow drop.

Good - I'll echo that the opening drive was a good one. Bernard played well. A couple of the backs looked good when they had the opportunity. All things considered...Simpson played as well as could be expected.

Bad - Coaching...

Ugly - They put of a stat line, I believe towards the end of the 3rd quarter, 55 yards rushing on the first drive and they had a total of 57 yards rushing at the time. The offensive play calling for most of the game did nothing to help Simpson out. Then again, not getting him valuable experience last year when the starter was stinking it up didn't do him, or the team any favors for this year either.

UNDISCIPLINED!!!!

Ten Bears called me a few moments ago and even he is pissed. His take is Bama will have a new DC in 2026.

I concur with his assessment. We're trying to make chicken salad out of chicken shit as of tonight. We need men to stop the run and all we have is the specialty positions on defense trying to out scheme them. Lawson and Jefferson are not SEC starters.
