🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. FSU

Pappanastos was 3 for 5 in the game, and he's 4 for 6 for his career. Never missed a PAT, 7 for 7. Kicks are like light switches - you bask in the glow or you scream in the dark. Performance is better viewed in its totality, not just from the frustration that follows a missed kick. Who wanted that guy Van Tiffin after his first year of 14 for 25, or his boy after the Arkansas game? One is the hero of one of our most beloved victories, and the other is our leading scorer. Griffith, the subject of so much scorn, holds up very well from a career standpoint and gets little acknowledgment for his 5 for 5 FG and 2 PATs (17 points, behind on Doyle) against aubrun to get us to the 2015 SECCG. Pappanastos is out there because the coaches believe he's our best option. He wants to be here, and I'm pulling for him. Using Griffith as a lazy punchline is unnecessary.

RTR,

Tim

Anything outside of 35 yards, we fuuuukt.

It's actually impossible to believe that Bulovas can't kick better than Pappanastos or that Scott can't kick with more authority. That was some weak stuff trying to find the crossbars last night.

The Good: Co-worker who is a huge FSU fan running his gums like a Briggs & Stratton.... think we just fouled out his spark plugs.

The Bad: Injuries to Miller and Lewis...first game too....sux big time.

The Ugly: I ran out of beer mid 4th quarter.

We'll see how the year goes.

Punt, or go for it. No longer want to watch Bama kickers psycho fluff the football.

Damn, you realize you're letting reasoning come into a conversation? You don't even know it I'd bet.

I've tried to point this out on more than one occasion and those involved in the conversation would rather bitch. I'm not pointing to you T&B.

You've said something here without realizing it was the truth. Sarcasm contains a lot of truth.

"Punt, or go for it."

Consider this. Essentially, both misses were a punt. Following the first one FSU went out on downs. Following the second, there was an INT on the first play.

If you look back over the last decade you can find a few cases where a FG made an impact on the game. LSU in '11. Or, the one I believe people still can't get over (and that's the reason we still see comments like this) is the Auburn game.

It's one game. We'll see how the year goes. I'm reminded this morning of how many fans freaked out when A&M rolled over UofSC a few years ago. (Still laughing at A&M from last night.)

Poor Aggy. The sure INT turned into a TD was hilarious, from afar.
How did that compare to say...a short stop letting one go through the five hole?

I can't help but laughing at just about everything there, Tim. And, to be honest, it all started back with their attitudes with fRan. Now, I picture that entire coaching staff, sans one, as a group of Kliff Kingsbury's.

Don't disagree with stats...but Foster was out there because the coaches thought he was the best option....how did rthat turrn out????

A program like Bama should have a A++++ kicker...
Plus..in spring game present kicker was poor....
Just disappointing...

If you recall, the #1 place kicker in the nation was committed to Bama before he chose to go to Florida for earlier playing time. He was 1/2 this past weekend and he's considered to be a A++++ kicker.

For my money, Joe Pannunzio gets my vote for coach of the game. It was inspiring to see all our talent being pointed in the right direction for 4 quarters. But we are in big time denial at the kicker position if we expect this rotation to have a happy ending.

Yeah, but he was 84% last season, so he atleast has shown he can make kicks, which can't be said for our guys. Plus, the field goal he missed was a 47 yarder, so a no gimme. I do think it is weird how we haven't been able to find a guy that plays the position like every single other position we recruit which is at a very high level, but I'm willing to give our boys on the roster a few more games to get their stuff together. I was upset during the game when we missed as I had a ton of money involved, but I'm not packing the tent up on our boys yet of course.

The good: Damian Harris.. he flat got it done all over the field. I have called him out before for being tackled too easy but he was a bad a$$ all over the field. Blocked a punt, ran hard blocked well. Even did well on the interviews coming into the game.

The Bad - Matt Womack.. he was going against some studs in his first start but he got whipped in pass coverage repeatedly and got very little push all night. He should be prepared after practicing against our d-line

The ugly- the east Tennessee, western Carolina inbreds that I was watching the game with at Buffalo Wild Wings in Asheville, NC. Holy cow.. I never want to hear people joke about people from Alabama ever again about being inbreds.. wow

Honorable mention ugly - Bolouvus (spelling) I can't imagine how bad it must be if he got beat out by that. I literally covered my eyes and didn't watch a kick all night. Did he get his kicking leg amputated? That could be the only way the walk on from ole miss should be kicking.

I promise you, I could go out right now without stretching and no practice and kick a 40 yarder at least 2 out of 4 times and I am in my mid 40's. I can't understand how we can't find a kid who can do this.. I am out of eligibility.

No no no
His performance was shakey
But if u went to Aday.
He was terrible aka Saturday night
After Aday I told Ms50+ he wouldn't even be at Bama come fall...little did I know
And as for #1 kicker going to FL...
Foster was #1 kicker when he came to Bama
Not belittling kid... but damn... u got 1 job
That all...
