🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Clemson

Good - Defense looked pissed off, hungry and refreshed. Absolutely dominated the entire game.,
Harris looked great, still think he should have been fed more.
Lewis, Mack and Jennings all had super games. I can just imagine how terrific they would have looked had Moses and Hamilton had been healthy, too. There was no drop off whatsoever with Thompson in there in place of Hootie. In fact, he seemed much more willing to come up and play physically. Anytime a guy starts his first game ever and isn't a liability to his team is a win to me but when he makes an impact thats even bigger.

Bad- Field goal kicking still an issue
No rhythm on offense. I will say Daboll tried to be more creative tonight with a few screens, a flea-flicker and even a bootleg to a d-lineman but it was too few and far between. He didnt seem like he could figure out if he wanted to run power or spread it out. Not enough attempts down the field either.

Ugly - Jennings getting hurt again. Such a damn shame, he was absolutely beastly tonight. Hopefully it isnt as severe as it looked.

-Defense was OUTSTANDING. If there was any doubt about how big of a deal those injured LB's were... There isn't anymore. Didn't see a ton of Cristian Miller but he eat up a few snaps. This was the Anfernee Jennings I thought we'd see all year... Unfortunately between the injuries and lack of depth he was limited. There were games it seemed like he never came out. Now with a legit rotation he looked beastly. Thought it was Courtney Upshaw out there for a minute. Really hope he's OK for the Natty... We need him.

-The OL kicked ass. Wasn't going to be easy, but they clearly established the trenches early and got some nice momentum going. Wasn't that impressed with Bo, but Harris was the real deal.

-That D LINE! That was absolute ass kicking. Buggs set the tone early, Davis kept it going, and Payne held his ground all night. Buggs and Davis can make or break that group and tonight they were a force.

-Play calling. HELL YES. That is what I'm talkin' about. Shoved the ball down their throat and controlled TOP almost the entire game. The flea flicker was perfectly called and should have been 7. Saban must have been ripping his arss for not running the clock out but at least the game was in hand.

-Secondary did a great job. Terry was onto something with the tighter coverage on shorter routes. Ended up forcing the big TO when Wallace tipped that quick slant. Just contested everything, all night. Thought Deionte Thompson played pretty well for his first start! Should have some confidence going into #2.

-Jalen was Jalen... The big thing was 0 INT's. Terry right on again saying he shouldn't have to play well for us to win. The D was so stellar that was certainly the case. Would love to see him pull it down and run up the middle a few times instead of out wide. Probably need to score more points vs UGA so 120 yards probably ain't gonna cut it.

-Still no idea why CNS didn't burn his TO going into half. In fact I think he only used 1 all night. He loves stashing em'... Swept under the rug though when the D is that dominant.

-In regard to Georgia - I really think we can run on them if they don't stack the box. But Kirby is going to undoubtedly do everything he can to put the game in Jalen's hands. What a coaching match up! Roll Tide

Good-BAMA WON!!!

Bad- That injury bug!!

Ugly- Those fans from the other place! WE beat you'll and we are the PEOPLE Champ again!!

I feel bad that UCF was left out! This is for my nephew, son because he a grand from UCF and a Capt. in the US Army!! His Dad is a retire Navy guy!

good - definitely the win

bad - the injuries....yet again on defense

ugly - some of the play-calling at times when it looked like we were needing a good, sustained drive

The Good-The speed of the team was refreshing

The Bad We just need to go for it on all 4th downs if we are in kicking range.

The Ugly- Throwing the ball when we were ahead 24-6

Good-The D was ridiculous

Bad- Jennings and Cotton

Ugly- OUR 2nd half offense!!!!! Did we try the edges???? Foster or Ruggs on a jet sweep? Can Jalen freaking take less than FIVE SECONDS to make a decision when throwing?????!!! Could Daboll try to play SMART and try runs, preferably not up the middle EACH time, on both first AND 2nd down??!!!!! Geez if we end up with 3rd and 10 so be it but at least there’s 2 minutes off the clock and one more chance! The offense became an EMBARASSMENT!! And don’t even try to say it had anything to do with Clemson’s D. I get it- they have a great pass rush- but they were tired and we didn’t take advantage. Kirby will put EIGHT in the box and DARE us to throw.

Good - The win

Better - When Saban yelled at Daboll, late in the game, telling him what we've been saying all along RUN THE BALL!!! Profanity deleted.

Best - Getting a shot at a fifth title in nine years.

Ugly - Orange
RTR

All covered the good...win...period
Bad...another damn LB injury...WTF
Ugly..espns awful....drag of the game..mammoth commercials...the 4th took forever
...one commercial segment spanned 5 minutes...and same stupid shit over n over..if I didn't have Direct Tv..i sure as hell wouldnt have it now..or Allstate, Ford 150..taco bell..other stupidest shit...

The Good: The lines got their fire back. I have been saying it all year that our lines have looked soft and Saban said as much post game... "our lines got their identity back tonight. Also, the play of Jennings, Wilson and Hand were awesome. Deshawn Hand played like a man possessed last night.. there was a play when he blew through a double team, trucked the back trying to stop him and then got to the QB.

The Bad: Play calling in the second half, injuries and Jalen not knowing how to throw the ball away. I find myself screaming for him to throw it almost every play.

The Ugly: Tony Brown's smack talk at the Clemson bench and on the interviews after the game. That isn't who we are, nor who we ought to be. Don't they see how stupid it looked on Chokelahoma with them talking trash after every play and then losing. It looks even worse on them when they win (see Mayfield planting flag or shooting birds) At Bama, we don't need to talk trash, be snarky when we win, charge the field or the court when we beat a rival or any of that. We expect to win, we show class when winning or losing and earn respect for how we play not what we say.

Good: The focus and physicality were like the old fashion hate we are used to seeing from our team.

Bad: The flea flicker Jalen, it was there.

Ugly: The screen that blocked about a third of the picture on the Alabama radio audio app on ESPN. Just not necessary.

Good- we are playing for our 5th title in 9 years! Amazing!! Defense played fast and we re-established our identity. Our defense following the fumble was outstanding!! 3 plays -6 yards!!

Bad- Jennings going down after playing out of his mind all night. Cotton going down as well. I think JC filled in nicely though, so Cottons possible absence next week may not be that bad.

Ugly- stretch of play calling late in the game. I agreed with Saban and wanted the air taken out of the game and reduce the clock. Daboll evidently hasn't gotten that memo.

Bet he had it by end of game....Deboll didnt look really happy getting his ass chewed out....
But better get use to it...or get lost...(which may happen anyway...if the CG gets screwed on bad/poor/inconsistent play calling)..

Unless he gets one hell of a job offer, one he can't refuse, expect him to be back at Bama next season. Saban has been very pleased with how he's worked out this season and he's highly thought of around the football program.
