🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. A & M

Good - Tua

Bad - O-Line run blocking and not controlling the line of scrimmage. The punter.

Ugly - Fisher calling a timeout with 1 second to go.

Not sure what category this goes into but the D still has a ways to go. I get very frustrated with them during games.

Good- Offense, except for two series we had a great plan and execution

Bad- Use of Jalen. Mostly runs with limited passing. Very ineffective and not really fair to him as a QB. If you want to develop him more, make him run the whole offense and get better at his progressions.

Ugly- Punting, JK Scott spoiled us and was a weapon. DeShank is going to cost us points at some time.

Good---beating a good A&M team, scoring 45 points, Tua and our passing offense had a lot of success today

Bad---inside rushing game stuffed but we rarely ran it around the corner, and when we tried a jet sweep, Ruggs scored---why did it take so long to try that?

Ugly---Mond picked up 800 yards on that carry straight up the gut, and continued to rack up the yards for most of the game. Punting was awful.

Good - Offense continues to hum. The use of literally every single on offense is incredible. Tua was excellent.
Pass defense for all but the fourth quarter.

Bad - The whole team in the fourth quarter. Seemed like literally every one, play callers/coaches included, just decided to pack it in and coast the rest of the game. Not good and Saban will not be happy with that.

Ugly - Skyler Delong was atrocious today. Kicking continues to be an issue.
Blocking on punt returns has got to change. Every single time Waddle makes a good return there's a flag.
Run defense was good except for accounting for the QB. I really wasn't watching like I usually do, so I don't know what it was (no discipline/not filling the gaps/etc.) but good God that was atrocious. It was literally A&M's entire offense.

Dido. Specificly good on how the DL play both the run and the pass. Buggs was a monster today.

The DeLong thing is scary. The way they tried to do the little jog to the right deal then scrapped it... Confusing. Don't know how a guy can get that far punting then look so timid. On the other hand Belovus made a long one and all his XP's.... That was cool

Between Bobby Petrino and Jimbo Fisher, it would be next to impossible to figure out who the crappiest sportsmen are. Why we continue to call the dogs in the 4th with these classless punks pushing their starters for mere stat stuffing is way beyond my pay grade.

Under the heading, "how bad is this thing going to get:" Most any good high school football punter can shank and pooch their way for 30 yards a punt. The worst part of this is the belief after 4 games we simply don't have a contingency program for a decent, just decent, backup. Ugh.

The Good - Play calling and execution Locksley had some amazing plays that were truly just impeccable always leaving someone open or creating space with other WRs or subtle shifts that allowed playmakers 1 on 1. Tua was excellent, after the rain a few balls slipped on him, but otherwise perfect for the day.

The Neutral - Play calling (I know weird) Locksley also tried to bang his head into a wall during the 2nd and 3rd quarters when his playcalls went RUN RUN PASS. A&M sold out to say "You won't run on first down on us" for the majority of the game, he took advantage in some situations but in others it seemed like he was just trying to force a run to happen. Hard to complain about 45 points, so this wasn't really bad, just a bit of a head scratcher.

The Bad - DL QB running containment. Pretty self explanatory here, the DL got out of it's rush gaps and it cost us quite a bit.

The Ugly - Punting and Penalties, need I say more?

Good- Locksley with another well called game. Tua slinging those "coconuts and pineapples!" No sacks allowed by our OL and the D coming up with 7 sacks.

Bad- The block in back by Moseley and then the horse collar on Anoma. Don't throw the hands up and it's likely a no call. I thought the intent of the horse collar was to prevent a player getting brought down by his shoulder pads, not the jersey.

Ugly- Coach Saban, please place a call to Dr Elko and get him to have a long sitdown or even multiple sitdowns with Skyler DeLong. He is so messed up right now. His drops are all over the place, contact point with the ball is all over the place as well. If Dr Elko is busy, make a call to Madam Zorba the palm reader and advisor. Maybe she can hypnotize him and correct the problem. If all else fails, let's sacrifice 3 live chickens or something!!

I think this was likely a directive from Saban to work on the running game. Trying to get us to where we can run anytime we want even when the other team knows that is what we are going to do.

Yo Terry..........I asked you to chart the punter during the warmups yesterday and report back your findings. There is no way in hell he can kick a football 50 yards (not counting in lucky rolls).

Head Bull Haig............ Don't make me come down there or I'll thump your skull for you!
