| FTBL Alabama football coaching staff changes and updates...

Here you are going to have to be patient. I can't remember how he said this, but DeBoer basically said his coordinators built their assisting staff's.

In other words, I don't expect to find out who is the offensive line coach until we know who is the offensive coordinator.
I agree.
If he communicates with Saban, as he hinted at, he'll find out the need for relationships in recruiting. But I'm sure he understands that already.

Those relationships will be more important down here than what they were in Washington. Several of these Alabama HS coaches are some straight up bitches and would love nothing more than to bash a school that doesn’t come out to their school. Old Terry Curtis at UMS Wright has already offered his .02 cents on DeBoer and his recruiting abilities. These same guys ate Harsin alive!!

Absolutely love the staff we'll have offensively this season. Now my main concern is the other side of the ball.... losing T-Rob blows, but there are capable replacements. I know he might bring his guy from Washington to be the DC, but if I'm being honest, I hope he doesn't. Obviously he'd have better talent to work with, but I'd rather get a DC with experience within the conference, and the ability to recruit to a high level. Hope we keep some guys on this staff(especially Bala).... and looking like we will so far.

That's probably where Nick and some of the Assistants will come in, they'll be able to get him in the door and on the good side of these guys as early as possible. Hopefully he builds the relationships fast and hits the ground running because 2025 recruiting is in full swing for most coaches and 2024 recruiting is still a possibility with Terry Bussey and Ryan Williams.

What a gigantic douche…I just read the article. He’s an idiot. You can name a bunch of coaches with sec recruiting ties that got booted because they weren’t that great at being a leader, organized , having a plan/ vision, schematic x’s & o’s, etc.

Saban, Urban, Jerry Kill, Bronco Mendenhall, etc. are leaders, ball coaches first…well Urban is questionable on the leadership part.
Point is these four build programs. They hire good coaches and support staff. Urban had Florida rolling in recruiting and he came from Utah.

Obviously not NIL era but it’s not going to matter. If you’re personable enough, dedicate the time, prioritize and have the right mix of experienced recruiters with relationships you will be fine. It’s not like he’s Coach Fran waddling in there.

That's in line with what I posted earlier, but I also added Grubb and Marks... would say penciled in more so than a sharpie for Marks. For the guys under Saban... hearing Cox and Roach may have a good opportunity to stay. Not sure on Bala yet, nothing very solid on that end. Obviously all the guys are getting calls.

I'm hearing he's already decided Roach and Gillespie are going to stay but hasn't made a decision on Bala yet...not sure what you've heard on that end.

I think Roach will probably stay. Haven't heard on Bala yet. Terry said it earlier, but DC falling into place likely needs to happen 1st before all the pieces are added. Gillespe v. Marks will be interesting. Both are top notch. I've heard really, really good things about Marks, but Gillespie adds some continuity and some valuable recruiting experience/ties. Marks may end up with an OC spot too, which would put him elsewhere... maybe still at UW. I do wonder if Gillespie is the pick if that would bump Cox, who already holds other SEC offers. If so, his TE coach at UW was once OC at Indiana and supposedly fits in very well with Grubb.

Also, just a weird aside, UW's official site has removed the staff page from their website at some point since around 4 pm today. Doesn't really mean anything, just odd since those are usually archived by season.
