🏈 Ryan Grubb joins the Alabama offensive coaching staff.

A more experienced OC would still have to deal with the same hand, from the same deck of cards. The only wild card I find is Jalen. Would he have responded differently post-UGA with Grubb versus how he responded to coaching under Sheridan? I don't.
Yes he would have to deal with the same things. My point is he has more experience to handle those things so it would have been better. All speculation so know way to know

I get what you are saying here. It still doesn't balance with me.

Call it a Freudian slip. Less than two hours ago I was talking with my neighbor about Sunday and the SB. He mentioned the upcoming draft and I referred to Jalen as J-Lo. A mistake, but so damn true. The staff spent an extraordinary amount of time trying to build Jalen up from those "low's" he fought mentally. Does a new coordinator for last season change what it took 20 years to create and foster? I don't see that happening. While I anticipated growth, maturing in how to handle a brief failure on the field this past season we didn't see that happen. We did see a young man step out on his own. (Under whose guidance the last part of the season? I don't know.)

Could a new coordinator have taken Jalen's role in LANK and then post-UGAwhen he decided he was going to let all the naysayers know he was a passing QB more than a running threat—influenced him enough to change what we saw happen?

I'm by no means laying this all at Jalen's feet—there's shared 'blame' all around. I am, by all means, saying I believe he's getting a pass due to what was chosen to show you on TV, in videos, interviews, etc.

A lot was thrown at a less experienced OC. All I am saying.... I am sure you have seen younger workers respond to situations in less effective ways that years later they will handle better based on their experiences. Not sure what Grubb could have done differently about OL, playcalling, new system the players were exposed to but suspect he had been there done that in the past more so than Sheridan. I started my post as a no way to know. Even Grubbs first year will have different circumstances because the players are different (expecially at QB) and those that are still there have one year in the system.

He will have a LOT more options than Grubb. But if he wanted to return to UA, DeBoer would make a spot for him (see Morrell last year for instance).

Huff had a spot with UA if he wanted it, but no surprise he got another NFL opportunity (and that's a pretty good one)...
