| FTBL Updates on Alabama players that are entering the transfer portal...

Downs isn't in the portal yet, but that swing and a miss for Trob is going to hurt our chances. Hopefully he sees that we tried our best, hopefully we can get our DC hire going. I think that's why Coach DeBoer canceled his introduction at the Basketball Game he spent today meeting with a lot of players in 1 on 1 situations and hoping to get them to buy in and now. He'll probably be spending tonight looking at DC options and making some calls.

LANK was just a more visible thing with this team. Connecting dots that may not be there Probably no connection at all but it was something that was more prominant this year with a team that had their struggles. Something was missing which demanded more of CNS as he said. COuld be assistent coaches, the inexperience of the players, NIL or combo off those and many other things. What was it? Do not know but was just saying this was something that felt different about this team.

Not trying to act like I have some inside info just commenting on what I was seeing.

I think we just had a couple of guys with nice smiles that were camera friendly.
 
I’m not so sure why some get so bent out of shape when these players start transferring, thinking about transferring, and etc. One thing for sure you find out when they do transfer, especially if they are a starter, it was all about me, me, me. You know those things like I was starter and now I have to compete. I don’t like the way I’m treated…you know I’m special. Yes, I’m from the old school when you make a commitment, in marriage, in a job, in helping someone, and etc…. YOU DO IT. I know there are exceptions to the rule but just to not even return a phone call and/or listen to what the new guy has to say is Shi??y.
 
I think people are being way too hard on players For transferring or thinking of transferring. Sure they came because it‘s Bama, but most of it was to play for Saban and to compete for championships, he retires and they’ve got no idea who’s going to be coaching them, but if they go to UGA or somewhere they know exactly who’s going to be coaching them and they know they’ll compete for championships.

And they have these other coaches in their ears, telling them that Bama is done and now that Saban is gone, their NFL stock will decline... the longer they wait to get out, the harder it'll be, etc.

And maybe he will... it's a wild situation right now. You touched on it, but these guys are under a lot of pressure right now... being pulled in all sorts of directions... some voices with good intentions, some not. And they are 18-22 year olds, having to sort through it all... There really should be many too surprises at this point until things get more stable.
