🏈 This year's JR class may not be finished yet- Devonta Smith returning?

Diggs not playing...well...i have said what i want to say about being part of a team....and not being there for your teammates.... but thats this generation...
Could...not say anything and just work it out with coach...but no....gotta make it a "me "moment......well....had some good moments....on the field....but...ready to move on...
Lewis...man i dont blame him with that injury history....
But...could do same.......

The Coach & old school mentality in me agrees with you.

The understanding & realistic part of me disagrees.

Ultimately, these bowl games really aren't meaningful.... ANYMORE. Some things age well and other things don't. You're old enough to remember this better than I've read about it - But the NIT tournament used to be bigger than the NCAA's. Now it's an after thought. As the sports world & business evolves, so do the players.

I believe Christian McCaffrey was the first to do this. It was fairly controversial at the time. I don't think you'll find many college teammates that hold it against him for not playing in the "Sun Bowl" against North Carolina... And in a year or two, I don't think anyone will hold it against Diggs or Lewis either. The others who play will be looked upon very positively, for sure.... But if one gets hurt.... Oh man. Just beat Michigan's ass and finish healthy! RTR

McCaffrey's announcement was a few days after Fournette's (who I saw getting some grief recently about quitting on the 2016 season and that was from another football player at LSU.)

If you're gonna get upset about players sitting out, then you should be furious how coaches leave their team to pursue another job. Coaches leaving is far worse in my opinion but somehow doesn't get the same level of attention.

At the end of the day, the NFL has created this situation of players sitting out. They've turned this into the business decision that it is. Direct it to the right place, it ain't the college players.

Not having fully guaranteed contracts plays a part in this as much as a getting to a 53 man roster.

This is so true. An injury in a meaningless (to the National Championship picture) Bowl can mean millions in guaranteed money thrown away. Once you get about 2/3rds through the first round that guaranteed amount drops quick. Second round starts at signing bonus plus about a year of salary fully paid. Once you get to the third round all you have for sure is the signing bonus.

Then why even have bowl games if they are meaningless.... once ur team is out of NC picture..... why play in final regular season games..... is that what is next ?

Bowl games were supposed to be a reward for a great season and used to be how the National Championship was influenced. The Rose, and Sugar Bowl used to be the deciding event for NC before the BCS era. Now they are just TV events with swag and bragging rights.

Prior to the 1970's, they were always meaningless exhibition games. NC was handed out by the polls after the regular season and that was that. Bryant benefited from that a few times because Bama lost the bowl but had already been given the NC. If the ultimate point of going to a certain college for the best players is to prepare them for the NFL, then yes they will start skipping games that don't have championship implications. I doubt you will see many skipping regular season games, but then again I never expected Fournette to take the whole year off on LSU.

Wish I could see what ur comments are on.

You want a home screen shortcut that'll enable me to force browser choice? I could, literally, make a home screen shortcut that would run through Chrome...I'm guessing it would eliminate a lot of things on .MacUsers (pun intended.)

I'd bet over the last six years of running this platform 95% of the problems have a Mac product involved. iPhone, iPad, MacBook ... their UI sucks.

As a developer, that is something that is not talked about a lot. Folks complain about having to maintain IE compatibility, but nobody ever complains about the hoops to make Apple stuff work right due to them just doing what they want.
