I agree with the ugly because it's Saban who created this mess.

Had he nipped the QB "competition" in the bud, the media attention would be a fraction of what it is now on that subject. In the moment it may have been tough on Jalen, but now it's just being drug out and prolonged and will only wear on him more.

Like I said - What will be done eventually should be done immediately. If Saban is going to act annoyed by the questions, or surprised they're still coming, he shouldn't. Bro - I've been telling the truth on Jalen for months now. You should be listening... Hell, I even told you how the QB rotations would play out before and during the game. One of the few people who says Jalen can help the team win if used correctly.

And I'm still telling the truth - The fact that Tua has to look over his shoulder or feel EXTRA pressure because Saban doesn't want to hurt Jalen's feelings isn't fair. He's won the competition. Is there any doubt about that? Bringing more media attention to what should now be a non story isn't rewarding Tua for his work.

He deserves to be the leader of the offense... Obviously Jalen can help and has leadership qualities as well... But it's not about Jalen anymore. Let this man be great and Jalen settle into his next role. Until Saban does so, Saban shouldn't be surprised at the reality and narrative he's created.

I love Jalen Hurts. He took us to the playoffs for two consecutive years. But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see who our quarterback should be. If Jalen is content to be our second-string QB, then let him play that role. If he insists on being the starter, then I very sincerely thank him for what he has given to Bama, and wish him well for his future at his next team. Tua is the real deal. Thank you Jalen. Declare Tua the starter. Let Jalen do whatever he wants and move on. Surely it would be best for Tua, Jalen, and the team to just make a decision and move forward. There is no comparison between the two. Tua is a quarterback, Jalen is a runner who throws the ball (usually inaccurately) every now and then.

On the kicking issues I do have a small theory.

So, some of us know kickers are literally the weirdest animal on the planet. I think with the Strength and Conditioning, we overexert the kickers and build too much muscle. You'd think this would allow for longer kicks and such, but we also make them do arm exercises and core exercises. I personally believe we might just need to bring in some outside kicking guru to work with kickers alone and let him set-up workouts and practice so we can take the problems away from the coaching staff.

Also why did the walk-on beat out Boulavas who was supposed to be the best kicker in the nation? Man, that's weird, we can develop everything but a good kicker it seems.

One, that's Jeff Banks "job title."
And two, the kickers have had "outside coaching" for years now. They're not any different than the QB's we've seen go to the Manning camps--they're both receiving coaching.

Bad - The guys that are suppose to be covering the drag routes and RB's out of the backfield not even being in the picture when they catch the ball.

Bad- was the stupid penalties, Leatherwood's blitz recognition, the lines of scrimmage as a whole.

Ugly - the whistle happy officials, targeting calls and the like. They took the rhythm out of the game and it's making it harder to watch a whole game.

Looks like Q Williams was the D Lineman of the week. While not the biggest he may be the most disruptive NT we've had. I like how Saban also pointed out that he was able to keep his gaps controlled as well. Certainly a bright spot for that group

Here's the other angle that puts CNS in a tough spot when it relates to this...

Averion Hurts is a well-known HS coach with lots of gravitas in Texas. You think if daddy feels sour grapes about his son not playing that he'll try to do something to sabotage our Texas recruiting efforts in the future? I think his talking of pure shit in the spring is evidence that he would. "Biggest Free Agent QB in college football history"? Of COURSE he'd try to stir up a stink in our Texas pipeline.

CNS is trying to diplomatically play this as free from added controversy as possible. He's not worried about hurting a reporter's feels. He's worried about the FUTURE of his program. (recruiting)

Eh, I don't think 1 coach in Texas is going to impact Alabama's footprint in that state... Especially considering we sign maybe 2-3 players a year from there... And it's a big ass state.

Saban went above and beyond to protect Hurts from criticism, or even objective evaluation, which makes him a good dude. If Jalen's daddy can't see that by now then who cares what he thinks or says, because he'd be ignorant to reality.

Now that Tua has proven his abilities, daddy should pipe down. Don't bring any more attention to who the better option is, because it's not his son. Maybe if/when he leaves Alabama they will complain, but for now he's got to fall in line.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Williams. He was one of my biggest worries on defense, because of his size. Granted all the spread/hurry up teams we face having a guy his size/speed on the field and not have to come out in obvious passing downs would be a huge benefit if he is able to be effective. I'm still not ready to say 100% sold, because I honestly believe Louisville is a terrible football team, but I am def. optimistic.
