šŸˆ The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. OU

Good- showed a lot of guts fighting back down 17-0 and scoring 24 or 27 unanswered points.

Bad- something came up and I had to miss the second quarter. Family first! Very vulnerable when we run two safeties high, the middle of the field is wide open. (CRG needs to watch and see how OU completed so many passes here and use it)

Ugly- dropped passes, Grubb with some of his play calling (4th down and 5 and we line up in the I, bunch formation, tight and running the ball, continued long developing pass plays)

I screamed a few times during game. That was loudest
And not snapping fricking ball.....i said a couple ugly words

That sideline call was something else. I could see DeBoer and Ha Ha clueless as to who it was and not being able to figure it out. As the commentators stated, it was 30 yards downfield and away from the play. Then you get the idiot rules analyst that has seemingly done everything he can to remain relevant citing a good call. I can't ever recall a time where a warning wasn't given. To me, this was a ref trying to to keep this a game with that call. There is no other excuse or evidence from other games I can use to say otherwise.
Same thing happened to Georgia last year against Notre Dame. I can’t remember if they gave a warning in that game earlier or not.

Don’t do that. Don’t say something ridiculous like the referee tried to make it a game, blah blah blah. You sound like an auburn fan.

Brown INT I stood up and yelling! Then when the best kicker in the whole wide world miss the first one I again stood up yelling, but when he was way short on that last I wasn't yelling I was scream! telling April that he was the best kicker in the Whole wide world!!

It was the same too, no warning and it was a player that ran into the sideline guy in the UGA game.

I think the ref was embarrassed/angry with the contact and reflexively threw the flag. I really don't think he had time to do that with forethought. He'd have to have sought out the person in his way and initiated contact to achieve that goal.

I normally don't go to Tik Tok or link to it, but it's the best video of it.

As always.... I wait until the next day to remove emotion from all of this.... Let me the one to tell you this:

Roll Tide! Enjoy this guys. Take the time this weekend to soak in all of this moment and just appreciate it. It wasn't pretty and Bama players and coaches rolled up their sleeves and got nasty and fought like heck to come back into the game and that's their identity this year: Gritty wins.

Two bad punts by Dobbs, 31 and 32 yards, allowed points. Blocked Punt by Keenan and Interception by brown was the game changing for the Alabama. Brooks grew up a lot last night. Ty never gave up and He looks much better than he did in SEC Championship health wise.

Defense.... Bama defense stats are actually much better than OU. 5 sacks, 7 TFL and 5 PD. OU had 4 sacks, 7 TFL and 2 PD. Wommack get lot of credit for adjusting throughout the game.

Grubb didn't call a clean game, but he improved compared to two weeks ago.

Game balls: Keenan, Brown and Brooks!

I said immediately that he threw the flag because he was pissed. I then explained to my family (calmy, you know) that he should be dragged out to the center of the field & beat with a hickory limb until he ceased to exist!

I've saw some who posted that the flag was no big deal. I would argue that. They would have had to punt (we saw how 2 of their punts went) & giving Deboer/Simpson a short field with time on the clock has not worked well for the opponents this year.

Most of us lose sight of how hard it is to be a DC. All rule changes favor the offense because spectators want to see points scored. OL can use hands, back when I played/coached it was holding. Hit ā€˜em, but not too hard. The defense has to play left handed.

Good --- comeback win in a conference road game against a FEROCIOUS Sooner defense, remaining poised while getting dominated 17-0, Simpson, Brown's pick 6, blocked punt, Talty drilled two field goals and outperformed the Groza Award winner, Bama's D was good overall, SECOND HALF ADJUSTMENTS, FIVE SACKS and numerous pressures on Mateer, Proctor was solid, becoming the first road team to win a playoff game, 11th win of the season, advancing to play #1 Indiana in the quarterfinals, punt that was downed deep in Okie territory, Brooks, Bernard, Hill's beastly run, 4th down conversion (for a TD)

Bad --- four sacks, Ty under pressure on most snaps, several poor punts, Ty threw several errant passes, taking forever to get the ball snapped

Ugly --- first quarter, 17-0 deficit, four sacks, run game except for Hill's one long run, missed tackles

My question is what if this was OU's ball boy on our sideline that he ran in to? How do you call that?

The GOOD - IF memory serves right, this is the first real BIG come from behind wind w/ CKD. This is significant because it validates that his process to coaching the game does payoff. Just keep playing. Don't quit. ETC. This may be juvenille to emphasize but it is important when the team is getting absolute knocked out in the first 3 rounds of a match. This was a huge come from behind win against a solid team in their house, with the albatross performances of the last 5 weeks. Gutting it out with that history.... that's Damn Good.

The Defense adjusted before halftime. Look, the zone scheme was just getting beat the first 24 minutes. Womack adjusted & BOOM what a difference it made. Sacks, INT returned for TD. RMFT! Well done players & staff. Oh, the only other points came after a 2 play, TD drive. That's it.

The Team Answered OK's momentum. After the tidal wave of adversity, these guys dug deep & countered. Simpson hung in & hit Brooks and ONCE AGAIN this team scores a TD on a 4th down play that is not a forced, game ending drive. I thought for SURE CKD was going to kick to make sure this team had something to show for that drive. NOPE. BIG BALLS, BIG, BIG, BALLS ! ! ! And the players got it done. Just very impressive. And then to lead a drive in the 4th quarter after the OK TD. Pretty damn impressive.

Low penalties has been a solid part of this team. All season long. It was good to see that this team didn't lose their composure last night despite the haymakers from OK. This just might be solid peek into the mentality of this team.

The Karma heaped back on to OK all in this game was . . . . .. "CHEF's KISS". Payback is a bitch.

I had ZERO empathy for their Lou Groza award winner. Seeing Venables transition from "Inconcievable!" into being demoralized was pure JOY!

The BAD - The offensive line still has a long way to go. The guards got beat A LOT by stunts & linebacker blitzes. And they got pancaked a few times but LB's too! That's terrible.

It did not help that we would NOT COMMIT TO RUNNING THE BALL. I am convinced that either Grubb isnt' calling or Simpson is audibling out of it or BOTH. Running the ball in the SEC is a mindset that we are going to keep at it all game long & eventually the dam will break. We got push in Athens. We got push when we tried last night. Grubb better get back to this & he has to tell Simpson to NOT audible out it. Besides a no gain run is always better than a no gain pass, unless they're in two minute. Sometimes less is more & just willing a running game is ALL that it is about.

The UGLY - It was a hard pill to swallow first part of the game. Good grief! My loyalty was tested for sure. I live by a mantra "Never Quit On a Bad Day" & it kept me in it.

Dropped passes!!!!! In particular 10 dropped passes in 1 season by a single player? Ummm, have a seat. Practice better be your best friend because you're not seeing the feild in a while.

That was a damn fumble! PERIOD.

Another MF'in phantom BS call in OK!

I was thinking last night that all of the kickers involved were in the AA club. Oklahoma's kicker & Punter were All Americans & our kicker & punter made you want to join AA. At the end of the game, our specialists outperformed theirs!
