The Good: JK Scott. What can you say about the guy, he gave us a competitive advantage and seemingly put them at the five yard line every punt. He set us up for success.
Derrick Henry. He was a beast that needed to be fed, but wasn't in the second half seemingly. He gave us a chance to win, he fought and ran hard. Apparently the Sugar Bowl is his game to play in, just not ours to freaking win.
The Bad: Our secondary. Sheesh. Words can't express how awful we were in pass coverage. The only reason this isn't my ugly, is because there is one more line of defense behind these guys that were worse.
The Ugly: The coaching. Our coaching staff was non-existent in this game. Lane Kiffin sucked, Kirby Smart sucked, Coach Saban sucked. The 3rd and 6 quarterback sneak that got stuffed was the worst call of the year offensively, and at a time we absolutely needed a first. The 3rd and 1 on defense where we have them on the ropes, needing a stop in relative deep territory, and they spread us out on what is CLEARLY going to be a quarterback sneak. What do we do you might ask? We move our stout inside linebacker Trey DePriest out wide to cover a receiver and leave a much smaller Landon Collins in the box to take on a 6'5 - 250 pound quarterback that falls forward for the first down. Now why wouldn't you keep your beef and strength in the middle and force Collins to cover one guy for one play we're 99.9% sure is a run??? And Coach Saban directly handles the part of the team that was our achilles heel all year, the secondary. That's the Ugly ladies and gents.
