🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. OM

Good: Resiliency...Playing for a full 60 minutes

Bad: Mental mistakes and penalties

Ugly: Horrific officiating (The SEC office needs to suspend this crew!) and the negativity out two particular posters in the Game Day thread. If you hate this team, then quit watching and go away! You two need to get a damn clue about how the clock works in the game...And that it's Ole $i$$.

Good----Bama won. Allen and Payne had huge defensive scores. Ridley had several big catches and Hurts had some good plays. Lots of young players got valuable experience playing a tough road game against a good conference and division rival. CHAD KELLY HAS USED UP HIS ELIGIBLITY SO BAMA WILL NEVER HAVE TO FACE HIM AGAIN!!!

Bad----Mistakes (enough to lose two or three games). Secondary got scorched for much of the game. Multiple holding and false start penalties that were killers. Play calling (at times).
Ugly---Same as the Bad.

All things considered, it is a huge win, on the road, with a true freshman QB.

HOLY SH*T what an emotional roller coaster... A few things:

-Hurts is a stud. Big time composure for a freshman. By far his biggest moment was coming back from that helmet to helmet hit and making the big throw to Ridley before half, then completing the TD Drive. Huge deal. Never looked rattled. Great job running the ball too, always in control.

-Harris has definetly taken the next step. He's a big time feature back. Huge coming out party for him on the big stage

-Bo Scarbrough showed signs... Then fumbled when it mattered most. Next man up

-Ridley is a soldier. Don't know if he ever came off the field... Made the big catch in second half and had some great blocks for Hurts

-Haven't seen anything from Deiter to make me wish Charlot hadn't left... Doesn't look comfortable or natural at this speed.

-The OL was absolutely dominant for 90% of the game. I know it's hard to tell sometimes because of Kiffin, but they could have ran Ole Miss over all night. Pass pro was spectacular aside from the one play where Hurts got blindsided. Taylor still makes some mistakes but that group did a great job.

-Defense had some great moments as a group but also looked a step slow today. Harrison in particular either looked injured or lost. Hamilton should never be in coverage vs a legit target.

-Marlon Humphrey.... Step slow, couldn't find the ball, physically weak... Rough day for him. Maybe we can keep him another year. He did not look ready to cover big time receivers today

-Anderson just makes plays. Said it before and sill believe he's been a far better player at UA than Tim Willliams. That strip sack was the play of the game IMO

-Eddie Jackson on his FIRST CAREER PUNT RETURN to the house?! Goodness gracious man! That kid has a knack for the big play.

-Inuries everywhere... Depth will really be tested. Rueben Foster, Eddie Jackson, Minkah Fitz, A. Stewart, and more... Let's hope we get most of them back sooner than later.

-Lastly... Kiffin is a mess. I'm sorry. We spent the entire first half running those sorry short screen and gay jet sweeps when running the ball right up the gut would have worked just fine. I understand "loosening the defense" but then there is just stupidity. He's lucky to get 3 non offensive TD's today to save his ass, cause there's no way in hell the offense should be that un productive when the run game is absolutely dominant. I'd love to see the YPC when we actually LINED UP UNDER CENTER and ran it right at their ass. Quit with the pussy-footing offense and get back to power football. Let your freshman QB settle in instead of forcing screen passes all over the field. I don't know if Saban got to him at half time or maybe he just pulled his head out of his ass but thank God. RMFT

Good - Alabama won. Team showed resiliency.

Bad - Hurts' passing accuracy. He didn't play with passion. A scoring play looked the same as a 10-yard loss. If Alabama didn't score two defensive TDs and a special teams TD, they would have lost.

Ugly - Pass defense. Kelly is good but not that good. Giving up 450+ passing yards is unacceptable.

Good - Patience and resiliency. Coaches believed we would wear them down and be able to have our way with them down the line. We did. I was frustrated that we didn't run sooner, and I was probably the most ignorant I've ever been of a Bama 300 plus yard rushing performance. The D and Specialty teams - Three TDs? Obviously the difference.

Bad - Penalties and negative plays - some of the negative plays were begat by playcalling, and that will get fixed.

Ugly (good) - We are just nasty on defense. Here's to our offense developing to a point where the D's not bailing us out. We'll be tough then.

I'll give Hurts credit for some of his progressions tonight, after getting destroyed in the pocket, still having the poise to go through his reads. Not as accurate as he should be, but he more than made up for it with his legs. The future for this young man is bright.

RTR,

Tim

Good: We Won!
Bad: Offensive play calling in the first half.
Ugly: Our defensive secondary did not get the job done. Thought they were supposed to be one of our strengths, but I am not to sure of that.

Good - Bama wins. Eddie Jackson. Hurts' composure. Damian Harris.

Bad - Commentary

Ugly - Officiating, commentary, the injuries and Bama's defense in the first half and the last minutes of the game. They started weak and finished weak.

Good- leaving Oxford with the W!
Bad- prevent defense up by 18! Throw that damn thing away!!!
Ugly- worst officiated game I have seen! The hit on Hurts was without a doubt, the definition of targeting! Then you have a personal foul on the same play while the ball is still live, NOT A DAMN TD! But , not only does the crew on the field not realize it, the guy in the booth is blind, and the dipshit sitting at the SEC office doesn't see it! WTF? Even Verne and Gary saw it!!!

Couldn't fucking believe it when I heard they said it was helmet-to-chest contact. That was the definition of targeting like you said. Leading with the crown, right to a guy's head/neck.

Good - fight and determination of our team to pull it out. Fuck Hugh Freeze. Fuck Ole Miss.
Damien Harris. Eddie Jackson returning punts. I honestly thought about starting a thread the other day about Eddie's return ability on INTs maybe making him a good PR, and whaddayaknow!
Jalen Hurts' rushing for over 100
Bad - offensive playcalling. Passing game. Offensive execution. Offensive penalties.
Ugly - squandering an 18 point lead. The hit on Jalen Hurts. Bo Scarbrough's fumble. Jalen missing the wide open TD. Jalen continuously short-arming the deep balls
