🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs MSU

Good:
-Mac/Sark offensive balance and execution. They're in "the zone"
-D. Smith dominating the MSU DB's was really impressive. Despite Waddle's absence, he was able to go off
-D Performance. Just really impressive. Felt like the DB's were quick to anticipate and make plays on the ball. For the 1st time all year there was a consistent pass rush to get the QB uncomfortable. That was fun to watch
-Young DB's = Stock Up. Branch and Moore have fantastic instincts despite being a little smaller. Hellams brought some heat also.
-Reichard. He's awesome

Bad:
-A few undisciplined penalties by the young cats. Tim Smith has a bright future... A little butt chewing tonight may do him some good down the road
-KJ Costello's injury. I've seen kids get in that concussion cycle and it's not pretty. With the minimal contact there and look on his face, I'd be really concerned to see him take any more hits. I feel for that kid

Ugly:
-Leaving many of the 'D' Starters in until the wee-minutes. I don't get it. So many reasons to not do that and so few reasons to do that. M. Moore went down the injury that looked minor, luckily that was the only thing that happened. Risking injury, suspensions, and grooming inexperience. Kind of thought the same thing on offense as there are still no receptions for the non-starters... But they got on the field early in the 4th.

Good- offense keeps clicking and defense seemed to follow the k.i.s.s. principle. Keep it simple stupid! Not a lot of yac allowed, solid tackling.

bad- the 2 concussions suffered by the Miss State players. Both were temporarily out. You can tell when those arms lock out like that.

ugly- pre snap penalties and just awful officiating!

Do explain....
How does leaving players in the game groom inexperience? Even though the team is six weeks in they are still considered a very young group on the backend. Leaving them in, against a guy like Leach, is grooming experience.

That experience being groomed was on full display last night. The team stood up and kept the goose egg on the scoreboard. If you recall, we had many fans mention "the lack of focus" with the back-ups which allowed trash time TD's.

Maintaining that focus, from the 1's to the 3's, is grooming experience: coaching, in live ball situations.
I forgot... On the 2020 depth chart, everyone is a starter AND non starter.... lol
Now you're changing what was said. Depending on returns and field position the starting groups can changed in a second. We saw that with Tucker in the first game.

In four of the six games this season Bama has opened up in a double tight end set, two wide outs and a single back. That meant we didn't see Metchie but saw Smith and Waddle as the wideouts. Last night we saw Smith and Metchie, Slade was in the rotation with a reception. Slade hasn't started a game this season which can also be written "he's not a starter."

That doesn't mean we won't see a single TE set with three wide outs before the season is over. Based on what we saw yesterday (and throughout this season) I wouldn't be shocked to see that set against LSU. The bayou boys have yet to show they can handled blocking receivers/backs on the outside: a staple of Bama's offenses.

Good - (don't say shit about our FG kicker, ain't saying shit about out FG kicker) Im not gonna be the jinx  :p
Bad- Came out and played the 2nd half sloppy and uninspired on offense...looked like we just want the game to be over.
Ugly- that green Halloween costume one of the kids was wearing..dont know what the hell it was...a pickle, a loogie...a what?

Good: Harris LB play was much better
Bad: Streak of >35 points game average was in jeopardy with ~2 minutes left in game
Ugly: # false starts. Without going back to check, I wonder how many of these are because of new personnel in a particular play/ formation

Last week game Bama went without a passing Td's, this week game N.Harris went without a Td's. So two record stop?
