Good - finally faced and responded to some adversity
Bad - dirty playing by mizzou
Ugly - pathetic announcers / refs
Maybe I missed it but what was dirty about Mizzou? Let's point out that only one player threw punches and he was wearing crimson...
GOOD:
Offense was good for the most part. Jalen was excellent when his number was called. I think the play that really tells the tale on his progression was the ball to Ruggs on the scoring drive. Saw the defense shift and immediately checked off to a different play (or hot route) and made a beautiful pass to Ruggs.
They continue to sprinkle more plays with Tua and Jalen on the field at the same time and they continue to work. This is going to be very fun to watch if Tua can stay healthy. I'm honestly not sure if he should even play against Tennessee. I get they are coming off of a big win at Auburn but that knee looks like it could become a huge problem.
Defense made a statement tonight, especially Savion Smith. We had some folks on here even questioning his "attitude" but he balled the hell out tonight. Quinnen Williams was a monster, too. Big game for Mack, too.
Running game looked good (especially for a team that has a "nonexistent running game" if you let some tell it), especially pounded out tough yardage even when Missouri knew that's what we were trying to do.
BAD:
Davis losing his composure and throwing punches. He should have been ejected and a little disappointing Saban put him back in.
Play-calling when Jalen first came in was far from what we've seen this year. After hearing Saban's comments after the game it honestly sounds like he told Locks to just milk the clock, but man it was painful to see them just trying to pound it with nine in the box over and over. Got better as they loosened the reigns a little bit, though.
UGLY:
Red-zone offense was simply not good. It comes down to execution and there was a big lack of execution inside the 20 tonight.
Skyler DeLong is absolutely atrocious at this point. Bulovas had a good night. Dont blame him for the 51-yarder at all. That was a bit much. Should have just gone for it there.
The injuries were really ugly to see. Over the last few years we'.ve really dodged the injury bug on offense (for the most part) but it bit hard tonight. I'm extremely worried about Tua. Saban is trying to keep the panic down it seems but he looked to be clearly not right even before he came off the field. There were a few throws late in the second and early in the third that it just seemed like it was difficult for him to plant his foot and drive the ball. I love his guts but we don't need him really messing that knee up. That does nothing for him or the team. Smith sounds like a hamstring pull (doubt we see him next week) and Ruggs sprained his ankle (came back in and I would be surprised if he didn't play next week).
