🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. LSU

Good.....beating a LSU team that came prepared and ready to play. Their offense had Bama's defense playing from their heels most all of the night.
Bad....losing more players to injury
Ugly.....I am not smart enough to understand the Bama offensive scheme. It appears to me the OL got their azz handed to them. #49 for LSU was playing for big bucks in the NFL and I think he made his mark.

Roll Tide

Good- step closer to their ultimate goal.

Bad- officiating wasn't good to say the least. They let A LOT of shit go! 4-5 flags thrown the entire night!

Ugly- SDH and Mack going down for what could likely be the rest of the year. Hand wasn't truly ready to go back. I saw on replay where he took on a blocker and more or less pulled him to the ground in an attempt to avoid contact on that knee.

Good: 1. Rashaan Evans! BOOOOOM
2. Jalen's clutch downfield passing in the first half

Bad: 1. The "Let's Show Off JK Scott to the NFL Scouts" game plan. Tua? Najee? Jacobs? They were needed last night.
2. Dropped (&#%_# passes!!

Ugly: 1. Ditto to all the others re: injuries. Wilson and SDH...Hand again! Hopefully Minkah's MRI will turn out well.
2. Horrific no-call PI for Haw Haw's boys.

So, in one breath you acknowledge Jalen's clutch downfield passing, dropped passes and you dont like the game plan... yet we still needed Tua? So, what would have changed in that scenario? Would the receivers magically catch his passes that they were dropping before? Would the game plan magically change?

Not trying to pick on you but good lord at all the people that beg for Tua anytime the offense struggles in the least beat. It blows my mind that someone would want to throw a freshman QB with barely any experience in the middle of a game like that when its not necessary. Want a sure-fire way to kill a young kids confidence? Throw his ass in the middle of a game like that with the offense struggling and have Keys come in and hit him in the mouth a couple of times. Pretty big difference between LSU's DBs and Vanderbilt's, my friend.

@Birdman37. Just looking for/ hoping for a change if pace in the second half, nothing more than a possession or two just to get some kind spark going. JK Scott is a great weapon; he just played too much last night.

I am in no way on a Tua bandwagon, Chicken Little approach. We have seen Tua come in for a series or two this year and inject some excitement into the game. That's all.

Good: LSU giving us a game and making our guys dig deep for a good win.

Bad: Injuries and losing two more linebackers. Gonna be tough to replace both as we could always count on those two guys to be gamers.

Ugly: Like everyone has said, the play calling. Lord have mercy it. was. awful. Our offense looked pathetic and not Championship worthy. Daboll better get it together. Harris was used so little, I was perplexed the entire game trying to figure why.

We have seen that literally once. He came in one time before Jalen was done for the day and that was by design against a lesser opponent. Every other Tua appearance has been in garbage time after the game is wrapped up.

I got to lay my eyes on our team for the first time this year in person. It looks different.

Good: we won and the co-ed's outfits

Bad: our lines of scrimmage

Ugly: the injuries

I know you will think I am being Nancy negative but I am not and the injuries aren' the end all be all.

We aren't a dominant football team and aren't like the championship teams we have had in the past. Our lines are soft on both sides. Our D-line gets zero push, our onine is slow and doesn't have the consistent nastiness they need, our db's are not fast enough to cover quality receivers and over all we just don' have the same quality of athlete we have had in the past several years.

Our lack of push on D-line is making it harder on our outside linebackers to get a pass rush.

Even so, we are good enough to win a couple more games, I just don' t think we can go all the way. I am really scared about state this weekend. They have dominated a few teams in the trenches and if we don' play much tougher we could get run over.

Nick mentioned that LSU was attacking with an 8 men front yet Bama had 5 trying to block them plus the RB. JMO but Bama needs a scatback to use in the passing game out of the backfield that will stretch the LB in coverage. I would like to have seen Bama with two TE's with only two wides try to counter the LSU defensive scheme. At least give the OL a fair chance to get some push.

Everybody hit something....just a few different items..
Good....anytime we beat a talented LSU team.its good
Bad...crowd ....lots of empty seats...LSU fans did not show up to support team....even The LSU band was a small ....and didnt do halftime with Golden Girls
Ugly.....the exiting of Bama fans at the end of 3rd quarter....and LSU fans at half way in fourth quarter...
GREAT....the paratroopers parachuting in to start game...awesome..

A poster spent a great deal of time putting together this segment on every pass made by Jalen this past week.

Jalen Hurts vs. LSU: All Passes

Not to pile on but having watched this you will see #6 pretty much shet the bed for Bama. Also neither #9 or #34 pass blocked like the game was for a championship. Jalen was on the money for the most part. JMO but Daboll should be attacking the middle of the field much more against these 8 men fronts instead of running all these routes to the outside.

I was at the 21-0 NC game. Prior to the game, one LSU fan told me you can't spell ROLLTIDE w/o two L's. Still makes me chuckle...not to mention the comments after the game by radio show host Bobby Hebert was just icing on the cake.

7 consecutive L's...that's a ROLLLLLLL TIDE :)

@252BAMA the L turning into a 7...that's brilliant!

It seems that "offensive inconsistency" is everyone's favorite "BAD" and I must agree. It is difficult to narrow it down to any one or two things (IMO). It is almost as if Daboll has too many weapons to use and is still trying to figure them all out. A basketball reference, if I may, he is trying to find the best lineup. I do like that the Freshmen receivers are getting some game time and having some balls tossed their way but in crunch time, when we need a pass play, will they be there or will he trust them to be "the guy". Not sure.

Offensive line did not play great but LSU, if nothing else, is always defensively athletic. I scratch my head with the offense but we did win so.....................

Our major issue wasn't play calling it was blocking, Jalen Holding on to the ball too long. Even on the passes he completed he was late throwing the ball.. he is still just a second or two late on every read. The o-line got their asses whipped most of the night in pass protection.. we actually ran the ball well against a stacked front we just didn't stick with it. I guess you could blame Daboll for not adjusting our formations to fit the defense they were running. There were several play where there was a free rusher that was at the mesh point because we had 3 and 4 receivers. I know you think you can throw quick to beat it but our Qb can struggle with that at times. I wish he would go max protect Irvin Smith Hback and run it/ play action pass.
