With the start of the first week of college football, we are back with another round of the Good, bad and ugly.

Good- 1a. special teams; blocked FG, blocked punt
1b. 2 INT's and a fumble recovery

Bad- 9 yard punt

Ugly- pass protection

good: the win...just the win
bad: o-line play. tdoo many Jalen was running when he shouldn't have been
ugly: the play calling on occasion (defense kept giving the offense too many chances that were squandered. three starts close to or inside the rz, and all we get is 3 points?)

Good: Bama won the game, won it over a good #3 team too.
Bad: OL not holding the line for our QB.
Ugly: FSU QB getting that knee injury. And for ABC for kept showing it.
Super great showing Harrison walking over to him.

Good: special teams minus field goals, defense in second half, Harris and depth at linebacker. Lewis, Evans, Miller and Jennings all banged yet linebackers were able to rotate in and be productive.

Bad: third down conversions and first down production.

Ugly: pass blocking was HORRENDOUS. Too many times Jalen had someone in his before he even took his second step. FSU dline whooped our oline.

Good: (a) STs play overall -except in one area-, coverage units were lights out, JK on KOs was outstanding (b) +3 TO Margin (c) D bent a little, but was salty in the Plus Red Area

Bad: OL is a sieve. Outside of 3 good runs, they could never get much of a push at the POA. Pass pro was a friggin' nightmare. And what's up with the bad snaps? Bozeman is a seasoned vet with almost 1,000 snaps under his belt. No excuse for that. Matt Womack may not be the answer at RT. Cotton was decent at RG.

Ugly: The fact that I miss Adam Griffith. What's up with Bulovas? Wasn't he like the #3 kicker in the country coming out of HS?

Good: Our offense stood toe to toe with probably the best, most seasoned defense we'll face all year and won the battle. JH didn't get hit in the pocket like DF did (numerous times.)

Bad: Our FG kicker missing his very first two attempts. (But he didn't give up, when he was needed later he did his job.)

Ugly: We had 4 or 5 LB's injured in the game. (Didn't notice much of a drop off either.)

Extra Good: This team has a chance to be something special.

The good. We won with enough points to take a risk.
The bad. Stop recruiting kickers. We are wasting time. Just need to go for it on 4th and anything.
The ugly. Our defense is scary. free shoes u was spinning in place without wheels

Good: Linebackers & Secondary. They flew around all night. Terrell Lewis, Minkah Fitz, SDH were stars. Best & most important series of the night was on JK's 2 yard punt, the D came out and pushed FSU backwards into a shit punt of their own. Obviously the Special Teams was lights out... Game changing plays all night.

Bad: Both lines. OL never got traction, DL was in mush rush.

Ugly: Offense in general. Starting slow, no rhythm, etc. So much talent but it looks ugly. Hoping that group gets a lot better the next few weeks.

Also - Clock management... Up 2 TD's and snapping the ball with 18 seconds on the clock for 2-3 series was mind boggling. Especially the way our O was playing. I'm sure that will be cleared up when they re watch the 4th quarter

Bad......I thought Foster had finished his time.....must be a re incarnation with Our new kicker....
Good gosh...is that really the best we can put out there....
May be Ole Ms way of beating us again
...good....victory
Ugly...see bad above.....

Good- I said it after the scrimmage I witnessed, Our 2 deep on defense can fly to the ball and arrive with bad intentions! That depth was put to the test last night with our LB injuries.
Bad- Injuries! I was going to say OL play or play calling, but F$U often had 5 at the line and brought 1-2 more on every snap, making blocking a mismatch 5 on 7, with our guys already in a route.
Ugly- JK's 9 yard shank! I roasted the Wyoming punter for whiffing on a punt and I'll be dang if JK almost matched him! A close 2nd is those ugly ass reading glasses Jimbo was wearing!!

Good: quality win over a quality team. Defense made a statement.
Bad: passing game continues to haunt us
Ugly: field goals. The ball doesn't move very fast when he kicks it. Doesn't have a strong leg.

Bonus
Good and Ugly: I mentioned in another thread that the bra salesperson made no money in fan preparation for this game. Sometimes it was good, but too often it was ugly.

Ugly: The fact that I miss Adam Griffith.

Ugly- kicking

Pappanastos was 3 for 5 in the game, and he's 4 for 6 for his career. Never missed a PAT, 7 for 7. Kicks are like light switches - you bask in the glow or you scream in the dark. Performance is better viewed in its totality, not just from the frustration that follows a missed kick. Who wanted that guy Van Tiffin after his first year of 14 for 25, or his boy after the Arkansas game? One is the hero of one of our most beloved victories, and the other is our leading scorer. Griffith, the subject of so much scorn, holds up very well from a career standpoint and gets little acknowledgment for his 5 for 5 FG and 2 PATs (17 points, behind on Doyle) against aubrun to get us to the 2015 SECCG. Pappanastos is out there because the coaches believe he's our best option. He wants to be here, and I'm pulling for him. Using Griffith as a lazy punchline is unnecessary.

RTR,

Tim
