šŸˆ The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Clemson

good - not a whole lot

bad - bad injury on Smith (at least i think it was Smith, on defense)

ugly - just absolutely man-handled on both lines and basically embarrassed by their receivers and a freshman quarterback

It's easy to be down on your team tonight, but keep one thing in mind. We have changed offensive and defensive coordinators every year for the past several years. Right now, Clemson is keeping theirs, but with their success, for how long? We are suffering from too much success, with no continuity on the coaching staff. Nick is a smart man. He will straighten it out. And the next time we play Clemson, he may not call off the dogs.

Not a damn thing good.

Bad would even be a compliment.

Hell, ugly is being nice.

Flat out atrocious is more like it.

Saban needs to clean house.

Makw Goulding the DC. Tosh just doesn't have a feel for calling plays in the heat of battle. Biggest game of the year and not a SINGLE halftime adjustment on defense...

Give Goulding a shot..

Good ... Running game was good enough to win any game. They almost never stopped us running unless we got cute.

Bad... Tackling, pass rush, fake FG (they showed us in practice running a fake field goal who didn't know that shiz was coming????)

Ugly... our offensive line play was atrocious (again) Bye Coach Key have fun at Tech. Special teams...(Special my ass!) The coach that won that award must have been a sympathy award. DC... Lupoi got schooled and our guys looked lost and tentative all night.

Ugliest...Having to listen to the Clemson is the premier team in College Football for the next year talk.

More ugliest...already sick of hearing Dabo bump his gums. I want to pull for a Bama Boy but his schtick is already getting old.

Most ugliest.... Orange.

Going forward I'd like to see Alabama return to a more physically dominant offense than another attempt at running the greatest show on turf for another season. High powered and big play offensive teams are fun to watch, but at the end of the day they seem to have to their limits against more physical teams.

The defensive staff I believe needs to highly scrutinized by CNS. Against the three dominant QBs Alabama went up against this year (being Fromm, Murray, and Lawrence) they were highly ineffective, and I'm sorry but the fact that the defense got slapped on 3rd and long multiple times is inexcusable.

The loss itself will stink. I suggest you all stay away from sports media for a couple of days because the narrative of "Dabo has supplanted Nick Satan as the god of college football and Clemson will rule college football for the next 3,000 years hur dur" will be discussed relentlessly.

All in all, it was a fun season. This was an entertaining offense to watch, and moments like the SEC Championship game, the LSU game, and beating OU in the Orange Bowl were all fun moments. To be honest, I had my doubts this team would win it all due to the fact that I felt Alabama was too finesse this year on offense, and the defense was a B+ at best. But regardless, it was still a fun ride. Here is to 2019 RTR!!!

I agree! What happened to lining up with a fullback or the heavy elephant package and pounding the ball? I will never understand why we don't take plays that have worked in the past and utilize them. Kiffin killed Clemson with OJ. Howard. How hard is it to install 10-15 plays, starting in the spring, to throw off the defense? Why not use the I-formation or split backs? Why not run a toss sweep? And for the love of everything holy, it is time for Saban to adapt on defense!!!!!! This man to man coverage is getting us killed!!!! Our DBs never turn to located the ball! And not to take anything away from Clemson, but if the DB never turns to locate the ball, then how hard is it to catch those balls? As a former WR/FS and standing 6'4, I killed DB's doing that sh!t. Its too damn easy!!!! And why do we rarely substitute our d-line? We recruit all those guys just to keep them on the bench? We have a long way to go on defense. How about some damn stunts, delayed blitzs and zone coverage on 3rd and long??? Its an obvious passing down. The front 7 can't get to the QB, so run some zone underneath. I'm no coach, a stat was put up stating Lawrence was 11/16 with 240 yards and 2 TDs on 3rd down. Thats ridiculous!!!! And we didn't try to change. We didn't play off. We stayed in man to man 2 yards off the receiver. Forgive me, but better teams see this sh!t and they adapt!!!! Georgia and Clemson both did!!! And the truly sad part is, we were in the red zone on 4 occasions and came away with 0 points. Why, because we continue to abandon the run. Lineup and punch them in the damn mouth!!!!!

I agree with Tosh being in over his head, but after watching our LB's have their worst season ever how can you think Golding is the answer ? I hate to say this, but Bama LB's are really, really bad.

@BamaBoyJosh

Remember early this year when I told you the LB's were awful, and you wanted to argue with me about it ? yeah, well they proved me right all season long, and again tonight. My goodness they are lost. I have no idea how LB's can even get that lost.
I agree again!!!! Reuben Foster would have blown up that screen play to the RB that went for 60+ yards! Wilson over ran the play for no apparent reason. He had it diagnosed before the RB even caught the ball. He should have leveled him. But this has been the type of play all year with Moses and Wilson.

You called it!!!! Not sure why we stayed in man to man on 3rd and long all night. Zone coverage would have helped a lot! Instead we get burned all night.

Just to point out... 3 of our best were on the sidelines injured/recovering. Wonder what this team’s D woulda looked like with a full year of a heathy Lewis, Allan and Miller... just saying...
