šŸˆ The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs Auburn

First, I will stipulate that I am an asshole. On the way into the game, I noticed the auburn band buses were parked along the street beside Tutwiler. We were able to catch an elevator down from the upper deck following Rammer jammer, so we had about a 1/4 mix of auburn fans as we worked along the sidewalk. One of the bus tenders was working with the storage area of the bus, and I loudly asked, with a Jack Daniels accent, if this was the bus to the Birmingham Bowl. He replied, ā€œThis bus is going to Auburnā€ and I begged to differ, to the guffaws of Bama fans and eye rolls of loveliest villagers.

This was simultaneously good, bad and ugly. Roll Tide, guys.

Fantastic!

Reminds me of an Iron Bowl from years back (when I was younger and still drank). I was feeling good. I don't remember if it was 91 or 92, but it was at the old gray lady. Some buddies and I made the trip from Tuscaloosa. On the walk to the stadium, I found one those yellow vests the guys that direct the parking wear. It was draped over one of those orange barrel traffic barriers. Anyway, just goofing off, I put it on. When we got close to the stadium, the AU band busses started pulling up to an area that was obviously marked for them to park right next to the stadium. An area cordoned off, big enough for 2 busses. As they started to pull in, I stepped in front of the bus, waving my hands. He stopped and I walked around to his sliding window. I said, "You can't park here." He argued that this is where he had been told and asked where he was supposed to park? I answered that I didn't know, but it wasn't going to be here. That I had strict orders to keep these spaces available for tv trucks. They backed up and took off in search of parking. I don't know where they ended up, but those spots were empty when we left. Lol. I am proud of that one. Sometimes being an ass is just warranted.

Yes this CBS is out of Columbus, GA. The home of those fight kitty !!

Cable or antenna? I had no trouble with the HD channel of WRBL on WOW cable in Columbus.
I have and antenna with a booster to add power. But the weather always gave me trouble getting TV - 3. 54 and 38 come in fine. But this is what funny I'n getting TV stations from Jacksonville, Florida.

Good - Tua and the offense in the second half.
Bad - the high school coach trying to slow the game down in the 4th qtr to keep bama from hanging 60 on him.
Ugly - bama with silly penalties and trick plays that allowed the barn to score more than 7 points.

Good: Beat the barn! Yellow hammered the barn! I hate Auburn!
Bad: Consecutive first half nonchalance and Buggs' injury
Ugly: AUful officiating. Yes, Bama committed stupid penalties (Ugly, Part II), but damn! How does the barn get home cooking on the road?

Did anyone see what happened to Buggs? I was 90% sure that he was engaged with the tackle and a tight end (or fullback) came in and took out his knee. Someone else said someone "fell on him" but I never saw a replay.

Their OTA signal is pretty trash once you get much past the city itself. I also had trouble with them blocking me when I lived in Phenix City and had Dish. I was in a valley and could pick up no OTA signal from any Columbus stations. They said I should spend the money to put up a tall antenna to overcome the hills instead of letting me get the Dish CBS station out of Atlanta.

I pick up CBS and ABC great in Valley. Use to pull in Fox and NBC but they changed the tower signal strength and it hardly registers anymore. Cable TV and Columbus TV work hand in hand to make you crawl over to your local cable company to have to pay for local channels.

I have a firestick and IPTV. What's really cool was I found if you get a VPN it not only doesn't allow your Internet provider to monitor your usage to throttle down mbps in peak periods it completely disguises your location. For example, on Play Station Vue or Sling TV I can go to Atlanta, Dallas on my VPN or anywhere else I want for a server and now I'm not going through my local internet provider's server. I get all the local channels in the location I choose and that's cool. Technology, it's what you don't know that hurts you.

I used to have PIA as my VPN but got a good deal on a year of NordVPN. They are terrible. Connections drop at random and you have to disconnect and reconnect. This is across multiple devices and networks.

IPVanish has been good I guess. It's the only one I've had and it has been steady as she goes for me. So much of IPTV is about a robust internet speed. I have a ROKU and firestick both on our TVs and there is so much cool content I just wouldn't go back to cable or satellite.
