šŸˆ The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Auburn

No doubt the play calling stunk. I've always contended just letting Jalen get under center and hand off a few more times a game would take pressure off EVERYONE, and ultimately Hurts would be better for it.

But at the same time it's tough to call plays when your QB lacks good pocket presence... And potentially struggles to read coverages... And your OL is just "OK". But we didn't see Jalen "slide" in the pocket one time today and make a good pass to someone... It's like, either the first option is there or we're scrambling. There's no subtle movement to get a different passing or arm angle it's either throw it early or bail out.

I think it's a combo of all 3... Play calling, QB, and OL play. A better performace form any of the 3 would make the other 2 look way better... Unfortunately they all lack in certain areas. Just got exposed by a good D tonight

Part of me wonders if he trusts any of his other receivers. Foster and Sims haven't instilled much faith this year, one they should have taken off with. It was just a bad day all around man, no way around it. I'm just sad we came out so flat, everywhere. I would have spent the afternoon playing with my youngins if I knew we were going to play like we didn't give a shit.

Freaking terrible day... Not 1 phase of the game looked aggressive or confident. Just out there getting by. God I hate seeing Gus out coach Saban it's so god damn backwards but no question Auburn guys were playing faster and with more execution... Sickening

Even more sickening is we were winning 3/4 into the 3rd quarter. Played like absolute dog shit and were still winnibg late in the 3rd.

I don’t think we were outcoached. I think their players played better than our’s.

Hurts taking a sack running out of bounds is on him not coaching.

Players just casually playing is on them. Coaches can only scream and ā€œcoach em upā€ so much before it’s up to the dude playing in the game.

I can assure you Saban chewed ass and yet the team didn’t play any better

Na man... Their scheme's were noticeably better than ours today. The fact that they were able to get Kerryon the ball 30 times and our 3 RB's combined for 18 was all about coaching... Considering we actually had a second half lead. Not like we were our of the game and forced to throw all night.

Defensively they were prepared and had a schematic answer for all of our blitzes. They clearly saw a weakness in Levi Wallace and threw a lot at him early on for a lot of production.

They also executed some nice specialty plays early in the game to spread us out... Almost all worked. We ran 1 and it worked for a TD. Should have had more bullets in the chamber?

Throw in the poor clock management, penalties, and crazy snaps and it sure looked like their staff had a leg up today. JMO

Good- got to spend time with my family and a childhood friend/college roommate.

Bad- losing to those cow frickers!!!

Ugly- obviously the ugliest performance by a Saban coached team EVER!!!! Focus, poise, weren't present AT ALL!! Piss poor tackling! 4th and 3 and a damn senior WR runs a fricking 2 yard route!!! You have to know where the sticks are!! That was a mesh route with Ridley and Foster and the "mesh" is supposed to be made close enough between the two that they could actually slap hands as they cross.

This team is one of Saban's worse. There was a reason DaShawn Hand and Hootie didn't play much until their senior year. Jennings is too small for his position. We got destroyed at the point of attack on both sides of the ball.

Honestly, I'm looking forward to next year. We need leaders. Time to let the youngsters play coach. And lose Daboll. Let Werner and Locksley have this offense.

Good - We are getting plenty of time to rest and heal up.

Bad - We lost control of our own destiny, need wins by teams that are very hard to pull for to get in the playoff.

Ugly - Both sides of the lines got their asses whooped.... and the back to back "watch this shit" snaps....:smh:

During the game I kept calling it the X cross but when I looked, I corr TD the name of the play and put it on the in game thread. The Mesh, is the base pass play out of the old BYU teams and the Air Raid as you well know. In practice the two guys slap hands when they cross.

Bottom line is, this was by far one of our worst efforts as a football program since the 2003 season...and that was with a coach who didn't get hired until after Spring camp, never had built a playbook for college football (didn't even realize the hashmark difference until some point in September), huge NCAA sanction depth problems.

Injuries affected things on defense but the offense flat out let us down. The defense held them to 26 while a bit gimped and short handed. The offense needed to produce and they were flat out awful. Playcalling, execution, etc. This was awful and not in-keeping with the uniform they wear.
