🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Gig'em Style

Then if that's the case the staff needs to adjust and help the kid out. Roll the pocket, mix in some designed read option plays where the qb runs. Do SOMETHING to slow down the rush. One good thing that has come from our bad oline play is we've learned Coker can legitimately be a running threat. Yet we've not taken advantage of his ability to do that. Mixing in designed run plays for him would definitely slow the defensive line down. As of right now, other than throwing up the white flag during passing plays with plays that have little chance for success, I don't see anything the staff is doing to adjust.

I dont know that read option is the best thing for Coker, maybe some more straight old school option plays which we have seen them run version of the last cpl weeks. Regardless I agree roll outs should be done more (there were a few this week) and maybe switching up protections in some way. I mean just look at the sack they had on Coker when he went play action, he was loading up for the bomb to Ridley who destroyed the corner on a double move (he is getting almost as good as Cooper was in his freshman year at that double move).

Good: DEFENSE
Bad: O line after Kelly left
Ugly: Punt unit

Side note(s): we run too many jet/fly sweeps and screens. Ardarius Stewart should be benched and Kenyan Drake looks like dog excrement right now.

Yeah, read option may not be the best. Have you seen the designed QB run LSU has in place for Brandon Harris? That would be a perfect play for Coker. On the snap two linemen pull and lead around the end (with a full back as well I think) and it is tough to defend. It is almost a guaranteed four to five yards. Either way, we need to find a way to make adjustments to open up the passing game going into the last stretch of the season. I'm hoping the bye week enables our offensive line to not only get healthy but get somethings fixed.
