🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Gig'em Style

Good: The whole D side.
Bad:Special team too. Run back for TD and block punt Thank to the D for it not getting anything out of it.
Ugly: procedure penalties on the OL. and the targeting penalties.

Good- total defense effort and play!! DBs don't get those opportunities without the monsters up front harassing the QB.

Bad- like everyone else, piling on the punt team. Mazza with the shitty snap on the block. Hootie Jones with the strip on Cyrus instead of the vaunted 12th man, and cover team losing lane assignments on the return.

Ugly- don't know which is worse, the procedure penalties or the play of JCH at center when Kelly went down. One complemented the other.

The Good- Defense
The Bad- Our inability to run more than a handful of passing plays (the same ones over and over) due to the lack of confidence in our QB.
The Ugly- Turnovers and punt return team

Granted, I'll take four int's (three run back for td's) by our defense all day, every day and twice on Sunday's. However, we cannot rely on that every game. Our passing game needs to open up a little bit or it is going to cause us problems down the stretch. Over the last three games (JawJuh, Arky and aTm) we only run a handful of passing plays and they are the exact same ones over and over, by which none are in the middle of the field and most are within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage.

Ugly-Pass Protection

Am I the only one who noticed that Coker had no time to throw all day? It's why we never hit a deep pass in the game. It was open, but we had no time to let the play develop. LSU had the same problem with Florida and went to the flea-flicker. Maybe we should insert that play.

It's time for CNS to fire Bobby Williams again. Mel Tucker came in and turned our horrendous secondary from last year into aggressive ball hogs. Williams has done absolutely nothing to improve our Special Teams for several years now. It's a liability that has to be addressed.

I think you mean lack of confidence in the O-Line... Coker is not the problem on pass plays at the moment.

Then if that's the case the staff needs to adjust and help the kid out. Roll the pocket, mix in some designed read option plays where the qb runs. Do SOMETHING to slow down the rush. One good thing that has come from our bad oline play is we've learned Coker can legitimately be a running threat. Yet we've not taken advantage of his ability to do that. Mixing in designed run plays for him would definitely slow the defensive line down. As of right now, other than throwing up the white flag during passing plays with plays that have little chance for success, I don't see anything the staff is doing to adjust.
