St Augustine.....I remember Big C.

As a kid growing up in Dothan I used to listen to him when he DJ'd late at night on the radio. Always came on at midnight to the tune Steel Guitar Rag. (very good rendition, I might add) I thought is was hilarious that he would read the newspaper on the air every morning at about 4 am and then he would call Ray's restaurant to see what was for breakfast. Ray's never changed his menu and breakfast was always the same........Good memories.

Nope not even a penny. Guess I should talk to Britt about that.

I had family that grew up listening to Big C in Dothan but I dont remember him. I have heard him sing and will say that he had one of the deepest and smoothest voices that I ever heard.

I work for Britt and Terry in St Augustine now. If you want to support true Bama Fans these guys are some of the truest that I have ever known.

That bring up somthing i've been wondering.

back when i was a kid my folks had a HUGE redcord collection. and my dad was into comedy, Spoken words stuff, trucker songs ect. we had a 45' that if i remember right was recorded in Muscle Shoals.

It was called "I wanna Play ball for you Bear". and was a comedy bit done as a telephone call from coach Bryant. All you could hear was the "Recruit" on the phone talking to Coach. Was funny as hell.

DOES ANYONE know where a copy of this can be found or even remember it? I'd love to have it in a digital format, mainly for safe keeping, but also so i could go back and listen. The only copy i had was lost to old age in storage.
