| FTBL Is Oatis coming back to the team?

@TerryP I do not recall ever saying we would win 12. If I did it I cannot help but think it would have been one of those I never pick against Bama comments. I have been pretty consistent that before we crown this team national champions in the offseason we should let them play a few games and you gave me a hard time about it. I expected the first year to have growing pains just not against Vandy.

@TerryP do you believe this team has measured up to your preseasion comments and expectations?

Internet don't lie

I did look it up and obviously said that. Key words in the statment was I have to say 12!!!!. Same way I do not pick against Bama even when it looks unlikely (I am sure you will go find an exception somewhere). In the end I absolutely expected struggles in year 1 with a new coaching staff. Way more post saying that but it is what it is.

For the record, based on your comments in the preseason, I took your "12!" answer as a tongue-in-cheek type deal. You were cautiously optimistic at the time, to put it mildly, if I recall correctly.

Just messing with you man. I'm sure nobody, except maybe josey Wales, figured they'd lose to vandy 😁

Expectations? Nothing has changed with me; for my lifetime. I want to follow a team that is competing for a national title. While the chances are slim, they are still in that area.

I'm at a loss here because of the lack of watching football this season. Last year, I watched more football in a three day weekend than I've watched this season; combined. I think I saw around seven minutes of Vandy. I really didn't see any of the UT game. As you may have noticed I've not commented on those games. I have no foundation to do so.

I've still talked with people like I normally do in the season. I just don't have any frame of reference because I haven't been afforded the time to watch the games.

👌👍

Am I the only fool that thinks we can win out? My issue is at quarterback, but everywhere else I think we are competitive enough to be a Playoff team and be dangerous.

I still think they can win out, they just have to play better. It isn't a talent thing, they have enough. I don't think it's a coaching thing, the staff is good enough overall. It's a play closer to your potential thing. Bama was the better team last week in Knoxville, but they flutter fucked around and got beat. They will be the better team tomorrow and again in Baton Rouge. But we also saw in Nashville 3 weeks ago, it takes more than that. But if they can figure it out, they can absolutely win out. If they keep spinning their tires, it's going to be Yakety Sax Football every time out.

This team needs this bye week… and they ought to go very dark and quite… tight lipped totally focused and mysterious…CLOSED PRACTICES!!…Then maybe in LSU , they come out a different hungrier team…

@mando if I may add. I don't "wallow" in other peoples contrived miseries. When conversations go off the deep end, and find themselves in the "this is just stupid" category, I'm out. There's nothing about those conversations where I want to be a part.
I always hoped your optimism was warranted but doubted it would be.

I think they can but I do not think they will. Even this year if they play a clean game the results will turn out much better for the good guys. My recipe for winning out - stop the stupid penalties and figure out how to stop the run.
