| FTBL Who will Jump?? Cody? Smith? McClain? Arenas?

Smith is headed pro, Cody is a possibility, but not definite by any means. McClain has to stay one more season, and Arenas has given no indications that he is even considering leaving.

Yep.

If Cody is top 15, he could go. If not, he is better off staying. As I understand it, the rookie salary cap will not be a big issue for those outside of the top 15.

So Andre has already declared?

scout.com released their 1st round mock draft today and they had Andre going #2 to Cincinnati and Cody going later in the round as well. i hope they both stay but it would be hard for Smitty to turn down top 5 money. hopefully he'll do what Antoine did and stay to try and get a championship. like others said McClain cant leave and i dont think Javy will leave. im hoping Coffee doesnt decide to enter the draft like Santonio Beard did a few years ago when he had a breakout year.

Coffee isn't in danger of failing out of school, and doesn't face some of the other "issues" that Santonio faced. He'll be back.

No, but if you had already graduated and had a job offer with a $20M signing bonus, would you hang around for another year and risk injury?

I think the sprained knee he suffered against Tulane eliminated any possibility of his return...not that there was much to begin with.

Sweet, how does our line look when Cad and Smith are gone?

I think the O-Line will be just fine next season with the guys we have waiting to play that signed last year plus the JUCO that is coming with signing class.

Losing 3 to the NFL isn't going to be easy to replace... especially when 1 of them is the best OL in the country, and another is one of the top 2 or 3 centers in the country. We have some depth there now though, and more help is on the way. If BAMA can land Massie, it will give us some good options, and a very good base of depth across the line. I think this spring will look a little bit like a Chinese Fire Drill at times, and probably cause some hand-wringing of some fans, but by next fall, the new guys should start to settle in. One thing is for sure, they are going to be going up against a monster of a D-Line (which is one reason to look for some struggles from them this spring), so they will be battle tested.

We've got some guys who can play multiple positions though, and that will also help. Pendry and Saban will get the best 5 out there, and with what we have now, and the guys we have coming in, we should have a pretty stout 5... they just need to get some reps.

I hope so, as we've all seen without a great line, you can't have a great season.

We will not have as good of a line as we did this year. We will have a better line than UGA or Clemson did.

We will have all of our offensive skill guys back except JPW. Not to write off Wilson, but he was not asked to do a whole lot this year. I feel confident that McElroy can perform well in the same role. It should be a comfort to people the way we ran to the right over the past couple of games. I don't know that Carpenter will be as good coming in as Andre was as a true frosh, but I would think that he will be close. Carpenter is a 4 star JUCO, so he is older and more experienced. Then there is DJ Fluker. Depending on his learning curve, he will be a monster.

One good angle is that for all that leave early we get to offer another Scholarship...and the kids that want to come have similar potential.

I'm trying to block out what want to happen, but I too feel like Cody could use another year in a college program. I definitely think that he could play in the NFL right now, he certainly has the size and strength, but when you think about it...the guy has only played for about, what, 5 years. He didn't play but one or two years in high school because of grades. Right now, he's able to man-handle just about anyone that comes in his path, but the NFL will be a little different. While I don't think that many in the NFL will be able to match his strength...he could still use another year of coaching his technique...as well as another year in Saban's strength and conditioning program.

I think Cody would definitely benifit from another year of college. The only thing that would make his stock drop would be an injury, God forbid. Other than that, he would only be improving his draft stock. This is where he differs from Smitty. Andre would have nothing to gain and everything to lose by staying another year.

When asked about TC in a somewhat recent press conference, Saban said he could definitely benifit from losing more weight, and would be able to increase his endurance even more. The smarth thing, IMO, would be for Cody to stay another year.

Other than those two, I don't think anyone leaves for the NFL. Arenas seems to be too big of a competitor to leave the college game with more left to be accomplished.
