@50+yeartidefan here’s the biggest problem with benching now, TRANSFER PORTAL!!! These kids are all prima donnas and will bail in an instant. Basketball is a different animal though. So many games to get right as opposed to 12.
I agree that the officials could throw more flags, but do you really want the emotion taken out of the game. We don’t want robots do we?
No on robats. Yes on sportsmanship

You have to have a level of discipline....if you have a standard and that standard applies to all... and some think it doesnt apply to them...

What the hell do you have?

Refs need to throw the flags...if it hurts the team. The player will feel the repercussions.

Why doyou have to show up an opponent...i bet you and @OldPlayer knew and saw that

I saw Stallings and Curry handle such

I agree on sportsmanship. As an old coach, it used to be one of the things I used to harp on the most. I used to tell my players that they were to represent their school, community and parents with class. The name on the front of the uniform was very important, but the name on the back was the most important and their actions would follow them for life. If anyone was going to show their ass and argue, that would be me. I always took up for my kids and they knew I had their back.

I get it, I do. I'm not a fan of some of the stuff myself. But there's a very fine line between wanting Bama to reinvent the monster machine and MTAQ attitude while also keeping a lid on the tendencies and attitudes which are necessary for such. I think back to Landon Dickerson when he first got here... some fans freaked out because of his antics... "needed to be benched..." Dude ended up being one of the most liked and respected players Bama has had in years. He was setting a tone. And that OL played with that tone and attitude for the next 2 seasons.

I like the ones giving up a 20 yard pass and then standing over a receiver like they did something.

@bamanc50

Yeah. Had Sugar Bowl on yesterday and saw a few things...
...freshman receiver catching a TD and standing like a conquering hero to crowd
....tackle out of bounds and bama db ripping the guy's helmet off. Should have been a penalty
....bama guys making receptions and tackles and standing over them ( should have been penalties)
And other crappy shit

Just crap things that nicks bama teams dont act like. Shouldnt act like. They are alabama. Not tennessee ....dont have to act like that...

Ms50+ was watching too...( while folding clothes),...and said..."nick should bench them for acting like that"
I’m with you 50+ on this me, me, me mentality of standing over and staring at another player. The one that really gets me is the muscle flex. 1st time 15 yards and a warning 2nd time 15 yards and disqualification.

On same page 100%

When I played, if you did something like that or some action like it, you got to stay after practice and do more conditioning that usually resulted in projectile fertilization of the practice field (sometimes a couple times depending on the crime) It didn't take players long to learn the price of embarrassing the coach

As much as I love Outlaw Josey Wales, I think The Good The Bad and The Ugly is my favorite Clint Eastwood film of all time. Also one of the top 5 movies of all time.
Both great ones, but I'll go with Heartbreak Ridge and Kelly's Heroes. Grand Torino is up there, too.

Heartbreak Ridge was excellent

Colonel Meyers: What's your assessment of Bama's 2022 season?

Highway: It's a cluster fuck.

I love Heartbreak Ridge, but that movie is so ridiculous lol. I mean its supposed to take place at Camp Lejeune NC, but you can obviously tell it was filmed in the foothills of Southern California. I wonder why Clint Eastwood never changed the location setting from Camp Lejeune to Camp Pendleton? Both bases have recon units after all.

You guys still banking on changes at DC and OC.
I am with you but till it happens......
While everyone is focused on the DC, I understand Saban's priority is the offensive side of the ball—first and foremost.

Another guy we mentioned way back on the first couple pages... Would make some sense on a number of levels.
It doesn't make sense to me. KK would want to bring in his own offense versus running what Saban has installed. I can't see him running another coach's system.

To put player antics in perspective, regardless of what you did, you haven’t done ANYTHING you weren’t supposed to do. Play the game, keep your mouth shut. It’s not about you.

Offense scored enough points in every game to win ...with and without BY...
While ...in times...it was head scatching......still

While the D had significant breakdowns at critical times...

But nick watched uga last night...maybe woke him up

I think he understands that even an elite defense won't stop a great Offense, or more an Elite QB. It's just the way the game is weighted right now. You have to score to win some games. The days of 17-10 slobber knocker games is over, for now.
