Jim Leonhard would be great IMO.
How's he done against offensive styles seen in the SEC? Hell, his defense gave up 24 to Iowa this season (who averaged 17 points per game.)
A hire out of left field wouldn't shock me.
When we look back over the hires Saban has made when have they not been out of left field? When they've already been in the dugout.

.
Well he shut down Oklahoma State in the bowl game; gave up 10 to Maryland; and then gave up 52 to Ohio State on the road (most similar SEC offense). I think it would be worth a shot to see how well he could scheme with better talent and athletes.

I watched that Iowa game and that's unfair to give him criticism for that loss. They were consistently given a short field due to horrific play by their QB Mertz. Wisconsin's D gave up less than 150 yards to Iowa. Wisconsin had three turnovers on offense.

With all of the apparent changes in the NFL, the Rams, Denver, the Panthers, and so on. Makes you wonder if someone will grab Kingsbury. I would love to snatch him up, but you know he would only be there for a year or two, but he’ll that’s kind of our forte anyway.

Old Man, those days will never return. That is Ovah. The roster shows you the story if you care to review. You do remember a couple years back when the NCAA put the responsibility of trying to control the players on the officials because the F coaches wouldn't (on game days).

These people F up everything they touch, and it is already documented for you.

I noticed that Freddie Kitchens was actually calling the plays for USCe vs Notre Dame in the bowl game for the Chickens. I see he signed on as a analyst but apparently some offensive coach moved on at the end of the regular season. I mention this because Nick tried several times to hire Freddie but the story I read is Freddie doesn't enjoy recruiting at all.
No. I agree. Wish the official's would throw flags to stop it. Hell. We get 15-17 a game. Shoot for 20

Or Nick could sit down those that act like that. Cant do it if you aint playing

I get it, I do. I'm not a fan of some of the stuff myself. But there's a very fine line between wanting Bama to reinvent the monster machine and MTAQ attitude while also keeping a lid on the tendencies and attitudes which are necessary for such. I think back to Landon Dickerson when he first got here... some fans freaked out because of his antics... "needed to be benched..." Dude ended up being one of the most liked and respected players Bama has had in years. He was setting a tone. And that OL played with that tone and attitude for the next 2 seasons.

It's been pretty quiet. Several names we mentioned a while back in this thread are still being thrown around by more and more people, but that means little if anything IMO. A hire out of left field wouldn't shock me.

The antics reflet on the Hc and how he runs the the program and the type person he in fact is
And this isnt the nfl where winning is the only important aspect

I think Nick has to much class to let him be drawn down by such crap.

Benching a player doesnt ruin him. Makes him re evaluate what his goals in life are

I thought the way he handled a couple receivers s year or so ago was proper
They left and what did that get them
and he has has little such behavioral problems

Boys come to play Sitting on bench changes behavior even for a few series

Should Will Reichard have been benched for standing over Jarquez Hunter after he tackled him in the auburn game?

Yep.if it had been done earlier to some. He probably wouldn't have done it

I am just an antique. I believe in good sportsmanship. knock em down hard. And help em back up. You know. Its just a game.
Trash talk is fine. Did my share. Whether it was cards, sports, or even work. But always shook hands with an adversary afterwards Never wanted to show someone up. Never was with evil spirit

But. Thats just the way i was brought up.

@50+yeartidefan here’s the biggest problem with benching now, TRANSFER PORTAL!!! These kids are all prima donnas and will bail in an instant. Basketball is a different animal though. So many games to get right as opposed to 12.
I agree that the officials could throw more flags, but do you really want the emotion taken out of the game. We don’t want robots do we?
