🏈 Tua's possessions

Tua is an extraordinary QB... I do think that with him our odds at winning 1 or 2 National Championships with him are higher than it has ever been. And considering the talent amassed around him he has the strongest chance to win the Heisman 2 years in row. I think his biggest enemy is himself & our own fan base.

And Tua's unbelievable talent is the ONLY reason Jalen isn't the starter. As such, we are still blessed to have Jalen as a backup. It's a looong season & I as long as there is a chance Tua get's hurt he is an AWESOME 2nd string QB. I couldn't think of a better situation to be in as a fan. I also think Saban is being smart by having Jalen play as much as possible just to keep Tua fresh & Jalen engaged/learning. So instead of bemoaning the differences between the two QB's, I'm thankful that we have them both.

Oh my god.

If you're an adult don't begin any post like this.

What is this, your e-victory lap ?

What if it is ? Would that make me a bad person ? A bad member of this forum ? Does it mean I dont support Jalen ? (no it doesn't) Does it mean I dont know how to be supportive of a team ? (no. certainly not)

Tua > Hurts - Offense with Tua > Offense with Hurts - It's that simple, and that has always been my contention since mid-season last year. There were certain members of the Bama online forums that simply could not see this as a truth, but it was painfully obvious. That is why the debate became so heated. Tua is already being talked about as the future first pick of the NFL draft, and he was sitting behind a QB that literally could not make it past his first read before leaving the pocket, and running to the right sideline.

Hell, it's not even the second half and you're acting like Aubie's versus the Coonasses the last two years.

I read this a few times, and I honestly have no idea what you are talking about.

What so difficult to understand in the fact Tua wasn't ready for a good portion of the '17 season and really started catching in December?

You mean the same way that Deionte Thompson wasn't "ready" until Hootie got injured this past season ? I know it is difficult for everyone to accept that Coach Saban is not perfect, (myself included) but he isn't. Sometimes he is loyal, or has some other reason for allowing a less talented player to play, but sometimes he does it. I dont know why he does, but maybe it's something only he would understand how it benefits the team.

With that said Hootie was awful last year, and Thompson is already being talked about as a first round pick, and possibly the best safety of the Saban era. Thompson did not pass Hootie the moment Hootie got hurt. He was better than Hootie for a looooong time before that. Why CNS allowed Hootie to play instead of Thompson only he knows, but I dont need anyone to tell me that Thompson was better I could always see that for myself, and the play on the field speaks for itself much like the way Tua played when he saw the field also made it clear which QB could distribute the ball.

This "Team Tua" thing is ridiculous. There's a team we support here and it's Bama. One individual is not bigger than the program unless you're Ohio State.

Get off your soapbox, Oprah. "Team X" has been a Bama message board staple for at least a decade. I didn't start the practice, and unless you've been hiding under a rock you should know for most folks its a harmless way to participate in forum debates about the QB's. I was never one of the brainless nasty posters that wanted to paint Hurts as a villain. I simply knew that he didn't give the "TEAM" the best opportunity to win.

All you Tua guys have been telling Jalen he needs to leave along notes that resemble "he's gone" with continuous evidence to the contrary.

This is a garbage blanket statement directed at me for some reason, and I dont deserve it. I've never said Jalen needs to leave. I've seen those statements from others, but I've never said that. I doubt you're man enough to apologize, but then again I'm not a thin-skinned sissy getting my feelings hurt on a football message board so don't worry about it.

Truth bomb for you here: It's those who have said "Don't count Jalen out" that are sitting here this morning with complete and total vindication.

A "truth bomb" for me, ah ?

So those that said don't count out Jalen are vindicated ? As in he is still right there competing for the starting QB job ? Mr., that is pure delusion, and it's the same kind of blind delusion that led to this debate about these two QB's.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again -

It was those of us that did not choose a QB preference from an emotional standpoint - It was those of us that simply watched, and weighed our opinions based totally on performance that could see it was always going to be Tua. The ONLY way anyone could watch these two QB's compete, and think Hurts was a better option was those making decisions from an emotional"fan" perspective. It truly is not close. Tua is the definition of a "generational" talent. He will likely finish his career as the best QB to ever play at UA.

I'm still dumbfounded at all the "he's going to transfer" comments

Really ? I mean I have no idea what he is going to do, but you're "dumbfounded" there is speculation he may transfer at some point ?

It wouldn't surprise me that's for sure. I'm not into "nascarish" by the way. Never understood watching cars drive in a circle.

Team Tua seems equally GAY.
To me, it seems "NASCAR'ish."

Here's a gut feeling. We're going to see those who are all about Tua and all against Jalen are going to start mini-rants about Jalen costing Tua the Heisman because they're sharing snaps.

Emotions aside - Is that inaccurate?

Well, Stalker, we have to be very careful what we say around here, or else risk offending the Hurts crowd, but yeah... I would say that is accurate. Of course it is accurate. If Tua plays just 2.5 quarter a game he probably already has a death grip on the Heisman.

However we need Hurts to be ready to go if Tua gets injured so - Team winning a title > Tua winning the Heisman

Jalen's dad is an azz and not much of a head coach to ever send a message that any credible high school coach wouldn't except on their own team.
What do you have to base that on?
Emotions aside - Is that inaccurate?
Honestly? I could care less, but only a fraction of a bit.

If it's Tua's goal to win the Heisman this year and he gets upset about Jalen getting snaps that took away his opportunity? There are bigger problems at hand.

When he's active in the leadership meetings and activities and we're seeing this in the spring and it is carrying through the summer, yes, I'm dumbfounded. There were videos of these activities all over the 'net. How could anyone have missed them?

If it was his intent to leave why would he be so involved in those meetings? If you're suggesting that he's participating in those activities and all the while is planning on leaving you're also suggesting he's acting in a psychopathic nature--it's pathological lying.

Where are we? Jalen has yet to take a consequential snap.
Every snap he takes is consequential because it keeps the starter on the bench, resting.
Every snap he takes puts a different weight on the defense.
I'm one of the few people that fully expected a 2 QB system
And here we are, with a two QB system, and you're back to where we were. It's all about one guy.

BTW, what were you driving at about the 36 carries versus 14 with Tua? I'll still wondering where you pulled that from and where you were going with the numbers (despite being way off.)

Terry - Let me clean this up for ya.

As posted previously - The 14 carries for Tua and 36 for Jalen is referring to Tua's first 3 games as a starter this year vs Jalen's first 3 games as a starter last year. I did a poor job explaining that the first time, but cleared it up in a following post.

And if we're calling every snap consequential (to the outcome of the game) then we're in a 3 QB system, aren't we? Where's the love for Mac (lovin) :D

I mean... You cared enough to bring it up... And attribute it to people who hadn't said it yet (if they did, who?).

I think there's definitely some truth to it. I also don't think Tua gives a rats arss cause he's arguably the perfect college phenom QB and has a soft spot for his backup. Which is a beautiful thing

I noticed more than once during the game they showed Tua appearing to explain to Jalen what he'd just done on the previous drive. Along with the coaches and Jalen's hard work, Tua is likely helping Hurts become a better QB.
