Bama men are in Columbia tonight to take on the Gamecocks. It is one that we should win, but I would love to see us play with the intensity we showed much of the Kentucky game. Tip off is at 7:00 CST. In the Birmingham area Channel 21 has the TV coverage.

It goes back to my feelongs before the season. With Gouye getting stronger all the time we can play Green at the 4 where he is a tough match up for the other guys, and play Jacobs and Gouye at the 5. We should see more of Mitchell at the 3 and a lot less at 4

I had a strange feeling we would lose this game after the effort put forth in Lexington the other nite. But as of right now we are projected around an 8 seed with an RPI of i believe 24. There are still ppl on this team that dont give a rip about playing team ball and until that gets fixed or those players move on this will only be a so so team

The team thought they could just show up and get the W. There was absolutely zero urgency all game. This team very well could tank the rest of the season. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I guess the most disturbing thing from last night was a failing of fundamentals. If you've played the game you learned early on that when you are playing defense and the other team shoots, you make sure you get your body betwwen an opposing player and the basket so your side will have an advantage in getting the rebound. SC shot a lot of terrible shots last night, and we didn't block out. A lot of their points came on putbacks from point blank range. That speaks to our effort as well as our basics.

The most disturbing thing to me is that we lost the game because we didn't give max effort (or even close). Remember 2 years ago when USC beat us in football? They just played out of their minds that day; they straight up out played us. Last night USC played the same crappy brand of basketball that lead them to a sub .500 record and the absolute bottom of the SEC. They didn't just have a really awesome shooting night while getting every bounce and favorable officiating.

I also think the talent on the team is a bit overrated.

Depends on how you define talent.

If you use athletic ability as the definition of talent, Alabama is an extremely talented team.

If you use pure basketball skills/knowledge as the definition of talent, then Alabama is lacking somewhat in that area.

Agreed Bo. Lacey may come into his own, but man I would love to have a guy that was just dangerous out in three land, someone who other teams would worry about and who could knock down a bunch of the wide open looks. I know, doesn't everybody want that guy. I wish we could get someone though, even if he's small and slow. I still think he'd help this team.

If I'm reading it right, I think Grant believes there is a lack of effort. I wonder why? There is much to play for. I hope he does what he believes is right for the entire team.

this isn't to different than when Saban took over...we have our own DJ and Brown on our team ...some, no a lot need to excercise some patience.

And Saban had a lot more scholarships and roster spots to weed out the ones that were not buying in completely.
