That's what I'm hoping. There has to be a better alternative on the Republican side than Tuberville.
No chance. This isn't like Graddick/Baxley/Hunt, there is no discord/controversy over who the next governor will be. Tubs has every Republican endorsement there is, including Trump. McFeeters did get the Alabama Cannabis Coalition endorsement, @TerryP . He's outraised the Dem frontrunner Doug Jones (who would be a disaster - perhaps even worse than Walt Maddox) over ten to one.

I was talking about Bediako.

He was at Auburn for 10 years.
West Georgia doesn’t count

I believe this is what is in question :
  • Interpretation: While some legal interpretations suggest7 years of continuous residency, debate often surrounds whether this means seven years immediately leading up to the election, or simply a cumulative total, though the "seven years next before" phrasing usually implies the former.

Getting back to the original topic: that bastion of fairness, our moral compass Bruce Pearl puts Nate on blast.

So many different things can be said here, but auburn hiring Pearl when he was under a show cause tells me that auburn doesn't respect the SEC or the NCAA, and they are selfish. And I think it was wrong.

I don't quite believe you when you say you don't care what other schools are doing. That would mean you don't care if Bama is forced to play on an uneven playing field. That's a black and white matter; no shades of gray.

I don't like what's happening to high school kids. I've said that from day one. However.

I don't mind it's Alabama that's brought the national spotlight on this whole mess. I don't mind that one bit.
🤷

Coming back to Alabama?

Short of a medical issue, or the proverbial "dead woman/live boy in his bed" situation, Tubs will be the next governor. He's a reliable conservative, and although the auburn connection is distasteful, he's probably as well equipped or better to run the state as other recent governors.

As I've mentioned, usually governors become senators, not the other way around. I'm hopeful Katie Britt stays in the Senate and builds seniority to help the state from where she is. About a week ago, the New York Times did a feature article on Britt as a rational broker to Trump, probably the most positive article I've seen from them on a sitting republican.
I will never vote for Tubberville. I will just write someone in before I do that. He is an idiot.
