I meant in terms of all of the backlash about him being allowed to play. It’s not surprising to me that the judge ruled against it.
I don't know about that either. I think, deep down, Bama fans have no problems with the ruling on its own merits.

However, I know deep down I have no clue how they might vote and he's an elected official, I believe. His saving grace may be that a lot of Alabama fans are "FOG's."

Well, I don’t really think the decision had a ton to do with re-election.

I personally don’t think he should have been allowed to play. He went pro and came back to ā€œamateurā€ status somehow?? Make it make sense??

I don’t care what other schools are doing. I care about our school and what we are doing.

I would think the AD and Nate had a serious discussion on whether to allow the player back on the roster. Not a hill I would have fought for and I am surprised the AD allowed. Then again maybe the AD was looking down the road in his support for Nate.

I don't quite believe you when you say you don't care what other schools are doing. That would mean you don't care if Bama is forced to play on an uneven playing field. That's a black and white matter; no shades of gray.

I don't like what's happening to high school kids. I've said that from day one. However.

I don't mind it's Alabama that's brought the national spotlight on this whole mess. I don't mind that one bit.

Neither do I, the elite high school players (top 100) are going to sign and play. The blue bloods of college basketball are still going to get the top players. The other kids that are "outside the box" are going to struggle to play at top 20-75 teams on a consistent basis. NIL and transfers are us are killing the sports just like football.

Bama Guy nailed it as far as what is coming down the road.
NCAA will cease to exist and be replaced with a farm league with budget caps, etc. I wonder if there will be a limit on the number of years a player can play for a farm team. Amateur sports is ovah.

I don't understand what we gained by allowing it. Ok, so he played, what, three/four games, now what are you going to do to fix the issues you had before he came back that you thought you were fixing when he was back? To me there are WAY too many logistical pieces to this to not even make it worth my time. I get Nate has people to manage these things for him, but it just seems like a lot more of a distraction than productive.

Voters in this state probably going to willingly elect Tommy fuckin’ Tuberville as governor. I had better hopes ( and I can’t believe there are that many dumbass Alabama fans)
Since I live in the tyrannical State of Virginia, I don't follow Alabama politics as I did when I lived there. I'm curious as to the 'other dog' in this hunt. Who, or what, would be the alternative? You could wind up with a 'Spanberger'. Good luck with that. I'm looking to leave this Tyranny before this year is out.

Roll Tide!

Coming back to Alabama?

Short of a medical issue, or the proverbial "dead woman/live boy in his bed" situation, Tubs will be the next governor. He's a reliable conservative, and although the auburn connection is distasteful, he's probably as well equipped or better to run the state as other recent governors.

As I've mentioned, usually governors become senators, not the other way around. I'm hopeful Katie Britt stays in the Senate and builds seniority to help the state from where she is. About a week ago, the New York Times did a feature article on Britt as a rational broker to Trump, probably the most positive article I've seen from them on a sitting republican.

Bama is always my adopted home. Because of job transfer, I left Mobile in '85. I don't know if I would move back to Mobile, it's changed a whole lot since I left. Still, I love Alabama, and it is always my first choice. Florida is inviting as I was stationed in Pensacola for three years in the late '60's, so that would be my second choice. And then S.C. would be my third option. Mississippi would be my only other option. Wish me luck.
Roll Tide!
