🏈 🔎 Looking ahead to this weekend:Vanderbilt -- How does Alabama match up with the Commodores?

No, it's knowing what we saw with our own two eyes. To share words from terry "the curtains don't match the drapes" with those stats. Look at that blind resume with those stats and you wouldn't have thought a three point game, but it was...

You mean if Colt hadn't gotten hurt?
Right...
But the fact is...they wentinto USCe...and blew them out. Period
On their turf...in their stadium.....
How good are they.....find out Saturday....

We are coming off a high intensity game this past weekend with UGA. Hopefully, the team will be focused and mentally ready to play. I am very impressed with Coach Grubbs passing game and the development of T. Simpson. We still need to improve in our running game. My biggest concern is on defense. We continue to give up big runs, get out of position with our LB's and have too many blown coverage's. Pavia is a tremendous weapon on the ground or in the air so I am anxious to see what CKW has in store for him. Do we put a spy on him or not? Do we play a majority of zone coverage's with a 3 deep, 2 deep or nickel or are we going mainly man? Finally, I hope our players remember last year and come ready to play a full 60 minutes of football.
Losing Grubbs last year was HUGE. Milroe would have been better and the development of Simpson would have occurred then and not after FSU this year.

I don't give a shit what they did last season. That was a different team. And this BAMA team is a different team, too. Vandy will be way up for this game. They'll be looking to make it 2 in a row against BAMA. But BAMA is in a better place, I think. Plus, the game is at BDS so they've got that advantage going for them. And I'm betting the crowd will be into it even more just to let Vandy know this isn't the same BAMA from last season.

That said, I'd love to see them come out slinging it. Hit the throttle, and don't let up.

Yep. Back in the spring or summer (maybe both), I had to backtrack some on just how big of a loss that was. Nothing against Sheridan... who IS the QB coach and doing a fine job... but Grubb makes DeBoer's offense better. Had as scouting friend tell me before the season that Milroe really missed out on having him as his OC. Wasn't a great fit still, but he'd have gotten more consistent play out of him.

I’d love to see us building on the running game against Vandy this week. I really have no clue about their depth, but I would imagine it’s not great.

Pavia won’t be intimidated by BDS like most QB’s are/would be. Vandy is way more talented than Vandy’s of the past, but it’s more their mindset of believing they can beat teams…Vandy has never had that.

Vandy won’t just roll over…we’re going to have to take it from them.

If we come in with that mindset, we’ll win, and win big potentially, but we can’t afford to keep them in the game and give them more confidence.

Also, keep getting better every week.
